Bmore Zen Dog Training

Before training, our puppy Vienna had anxiety; didn’t respond to our commands consistently; and was kind of spooked with the world in general. She was a COVID pup, and even with our extensive efforts we worried she was never going to give us her best. With the training she received, Vienna is now much more at ease; confident and curious; and she has become much more responsive. We are finally able to take her to cafes, bars, and parks without worrying about her well-being. We received training too! And that vocabulary has allowed us to continue to reinforce the training like when we moved recently and Vienna needed direction on how things work at the new place. If you’re a dog parent that is invested in the outcome and willing to acknowledge you can’t Google everything, then this is the perfect training experience for you. We live in DC and happily drive to BMore even after training for long-term boarding. Feels great to know our dog loves who she is with while we’re away!

Bmore Zen Dog Training is absolutely amazing. My 4 year old leash reactive pit went to their boot camp training last summer and both him and I have learned so much about and from each other and communicate way better. His leash reactivity improved tremendously thanks to Rj, Tricia and Crystal. Highly recommend for anyone looking to exceed their relationship with their dog and just overall work on how to have a better life quality with your dog.

Thank you so much RJ, Crystal & Tricia for working with Gus the last 6 weeks. He was in boot camp for his aggression towards people one of them being my husband. He is a 3 year old Cane Corso and only in the last 6 months started showing this aggression. We didn't know where to turn b/c 98% of the time he is sweet and loving. While he has a healthy dose of stubborn he hadn't been aggressive his first 2.5 years so we didn't know what was happening. Since being home the last few days he is wonderful on walks (he wasn't terrible before, but he likes to smell everything and it was a struggle to keep walking). He now just walks in heel and checks in with me as we go. We even ran across a baby deer and he was interested but a few heel turns kept him from being fixated. Before boot camp he wouldn't go in his crate, now he has no problem crating up. He is currently in place while I am working. It is kind of amazing that he isn't barking at every noise (dogs, lawn mowers, trucks...). He isn't crazy about all the noise our contractor is making in the basement, but he is looking to me when he gets uncomfortable and has only tested the the placement a couple times (the last few days) and I have been right there to correct him. Gus will be on boot camp rules in our home for the next 90 days and I can tell that this is what is keeping him calm and I am encouraged by his new behavior. My husband took his first walk with him today. He has spent the last several days building back his relationship with Gus playing the place game and hanging out on our deck at night with Gus on place. Once we are confident in the relationship with my husband we will work on re-introducing people. Honestly, I will probably reach out to Crystal and RJ before that point to go over the best approach. Gus still has a ways to go and as we get more comfortable with the commands and structure I think he will do great! Now feedback on B-more Zen - I loved that I could open up Instagram everyday and get a video or picture of Gus in training. Our kids would get really excited to see him. After dropping Gus off for boot camp I remember turning to my husband and saying "I have good feeling about this did you notice that Gus didn't pee when he met them?" (he is an excited pee'r). Then at graduation (along with all the homework videos sent prior) RJ took several hours to review the work with Gus and had us practice with him. While this may seem silly it was helpful having RJ's feedback on our commands, body language and how firm to correct with the leash. RJ also gave us multiple options to work Gus through times when he is super uncomfortable and in his freeze state (b/c he is really stubborn). Something as simple as marking size on the e-collar to make sure we were putting it on correctly. While that seems super easy to figure out when you have a dog with a lot of neck skin this is really helpful. I can't say enough about how great this training was for Gus and for us as owners. I am excited to keep up this work and watch Gus progress. Thank you so much!!!

A year ago we sent our dog Ranger to train at Bmore Zen Dog training. He spent 5 weeks learning how to be calm on command, recall, heel, and most importantly trust his human handler to advocate for him. Before we sent Ranger, he was leash reactive, picking fights with our other dog, and aggressive towards guests we had at our house. Not only has Ranger learned important skills but we’ve learned how to lead him and earn his trust. Even a year later, we still have people come over and comment that he seems like a completely different dog. We still board Ranger here anytime we need to leave town even though it’s almost an hour away from us. And that’s because Crystal and Tricia care deeply about Ranger and all of the dogs in their care. We know when he stays there he gets to play with other dogs in a safe environment, which is so important to us. Last time I picked him up, he tried to go back inside with Crystal 🤣 because he loves it there so much. We are so thankful we found Crystal and Tricia. They have changed Ranger’s life and ours. You truly won’t find any other dog trainers who put more love and effort into caring for your dog.
