Bluegrass Dog Training

My current dog (name withheld) is my first dog--I was actually afraid of dogs before her, and had no clue about dog training or dog behavior. We had a consultation with Dr. K (Kristina Pattison) and chose to take scent training at Bluegrass Dog Training. We have currently taken several scent classes at BGDT. I have learned more than expected from Dr. K and Devan. My dog is a happier girl and I am a happier human before having training because we not only learned a hobby together, I better understand my dog's behavior and options to respond. We do not participate in the scent competitions but because of our experiences with BGDT, my dog and I have a happy life together--we hike trails without pulling, go to public places without mayhem, tent camp together across the U.S, stay in hotels (no barking), appropriately greet kids, adults and do not react to other dogs. My husband and I have been taking scent work classes at BDTA for over 2 years. We are extremely happy with the instruction we've been given by Dr. Kristina Pattison. She has prepared us well for competition and challenges our dogs (and us). I highly recommend BDTA for basic manners on up to advanced levels of competition. Arwen and Kristina both have a wealth of dog knowledge from competing in a variety of dog events over the years. The entire staff at BDTA is friendly, helpful and professional.

We love our Agility classes with Arwen so much that we added Rally to the mix. Classes have been a great way for Reata and I to strengthen our relationship. She enjoys learning and the classes provide amazing enrichment. We're given weekly homework that we practice daily, usually after our morning walk. I look forward to our classes and Reata's tail wags throughout, so I know she's having fun. I also have enjoyed dipping our toes into Agility and Rally competitions with Arwen and our classmates.
