Sarah and Andrew are incredibly patient with both their human and canine clients. They were available to answer any questions we had, even before we got our puppy and were preparing to bring him home. Sarah is extremely knowledgeable about dog behavior, and she walked us through several situations that we weren't sure how to handle. Since completing his 2-week Train and Stay he is so much calmer, a ton less biting, really tunes into what we want him to do, knows how to play by himself and entertain himself, and he is just generally such a great puppy. Sarah's communication with us during his stay was phenomenal! They kept us updated very well on our puppy's progress throughout the training, sending us frequent videos, phone calls and texts almost daily that have just been amazing to help us feel confident in keeping up with what they were teaching him. So now we have the skills to continue to work on the behaviors he has learned. Our puppy learned how to play with other dogs during this training, which is invaluable, especially during the pandemic. Leo is being shared and goes to 2 households, our house and my parent's house. So, the communication was not just for myself and my husband, but my mom and dad too - 4 people! This was no problem for Sarah and Andrew, and we are so grateful to them for their time, commitment, guidance, and obvious love of dogs. They go above and beyond to make sure you understand your puppy's behavior. They are an amazing team! We can't thank them enough!

If you are thinking about having your dog trained in the Madison area, you HAVE to choose Blue Dog Training & Behavior. I have a really sweet Dalmatian puppy that would never hurt a fly, but needed some help training. Dalmatians are extremely stubborn, so I was afraid that she would be un-trainable. The other thing I was worried about was how well my puppy was going to be taken care of during her stay - I didn't want my baby to experience any forms of punishment. Sarah at Blue Dog Training did an exceptional job and took away all my fears about dog training. She reassured me from the beginning that she doesn't believe in punishment, and her methods focus on encouraging the dogs through positive reinforcement. Sarah even goes above and beyond to help you continue the training even after you pick up your dog. When I picked up my dog yesterday, I was stunned at how well behaved and attentive she was to all the commands she had learned. I could tell my puppy loved Sarah and was sad to leave. Thats how you know you picked the right trainer.

Sarah is phenomenal. We came to her with intra-household dog-dog aggression about a year ago. Not only is Sarah the most knowledgable trainer in Madison, she is unmatched in compassion towards us humans. She is willing to take calls at any hour, she explains things in way that make sense to lay dog owners and most importantly, she brings no judgement. She has helped me through acute stressful episodes and supported us as a family on numerous occasions. She calls to check in without prompting; she cares about us and our doggies. I am so glad we found Sarah and Blue Dog Training. We are in good hands and we are much better dog owners because of her!

Our family is so blessed to have found Sarah and Andrew at Blue Dog Training and Behavior. Sarah trained our new puppy, Rookie, and has been extremely responsive, caring, and attentive. We were provided expert advise, personal videos, and most importantly a carefully-trained puppy who has learned several commands and is well adjusted to life around other dogs and people. I decided to adopt a puppy from a shelter earlier this year and I honestly don't know if I would have been able to keep her if it weren't for Sarah's expert advice. My puppy Maple used to bark at anyone that came through the door, but with one bit of advice from Sarah it completely stopped!
