Joe was a a fantastic dog trainer. I had a couple friends go through his training process and they all had great results. I’d highly recommend him to any dog owner that needs a little help with their pet. My dog had unreliable recall and a couple other problems that were helped through Joe's tailor made training process. We went the stim collar route but Joe makes sure your dog is the right fit beforehand, and has many different training methods available if that’s not a route you wish to take. After a few sessions, my dogs behavior and demeanor improved greatly and he was able to enjoy new freedoms that he would never had been able too before. Complete game changer!

I highly recommend Black Diamond. Joe has a great way of explaining things. When the "why" behind the approach and mechanics is clear it is so much easier to execute well. I have a lot more confidence in my handling which has given my dog more confidence in me.

Our Aussie participated in e-collar training with Joe and Lindsey. The entire experience was awesome and we are very pleased with our dogs progress. They are very organized, communication was great, and both Joe & Lindsey have a terrific rapport with the dogs. We would highly recommend Black Diamond K9 for any type of training!

Do you have an amazing dog that you love dearly, but is driving you and your family bonkers due to lack of manners, obedience, and/or training? Are you looking to improve both you and your dog's quality of life? Do you want to truly have the bestest boy or girl in the whole world? Then you must call Joe at BDDC.
We recently had a fantastic experience sending our beloved 3.5 y/o German Shepherd, Lily, to BDDC for a 3 week board-and-train program with Joe. From the initial consultation to pick up, I was very pleased with everything about Joe's training style and efficacy. First, his facility is spotless, which I don't believe is an easy feat when working with packs of dogs. Second, Joe set clear expectations from the beginning, listened very intently to our goals, and then delivered. Third, the "go-home" training session with us parents on Lily's last day was thorough and insightful. I'm still very much an amateur, but I gained so much knowledge on how to properly work with Lily's individual personality in just that one session with Joe.
Lily is a high energy, strong-willed, sensitive, and overly-social GSD. She had an "okay" level of basic training from me that had been slowly eroding over the last 2 years after the birth of my son. Joe was able to reign in her strong drive to be first in/out the door, pull like CRAZY on leash walks, and jolt up and knock things over the moment I even thought about moving. Now, she actually sits and waits for me to give her a command...which is blowing my mind! Also, her off-leash recall has improved significantly to where I am no longer on high alert when I let her off leash around other dogs (she wasn't aggressive, but she loved to sprint at/herd/play with other dogs that are a hundred yards away, and then pretend like she can't hear me calling her name).
In conclusion: Joe provides a ton of value to his clients (both four-legged and two-legged), he's professional and polite, a great listener, knows his craft in-and-out, was responsive to additional correspondences after the training was complete, and possibly knows magic...because I have no other explanation for the transformation in my dog in such a short time-frame. To quote my favorite text from Joe during the training: "She's the same gal, just with more training and manners."

Joe dialed in Waylons quirks in a week, to what we had been trying for months. Waylon was a runner and now comes back to voice command. Amazing, 100% recommend Joe for any training needs .
