FirstBarkAndrew came to help my mom and dad train their dog after living on acreage and moving into an independent living community where there are other dogs. He is very professional and knowledgeable and we are excited to apply his practices to improve the quality of life for my mom and dad with their dog in their new home. We highly recommend him!

What is the best age for a dog to start training?
Dogs can learn at any age and we are happy to work with all of them. Typically our puppy training focuses on animals age 7 months - 2 years.

Have you ever met a dog that couldn't be trained?
After 20 years in the industry, there are only 3 dogs we remember as being particularly challenging, but we have never met a dog we couldn't help, nor an owner we couldn't give a better quality of life. Think of a person's personal fitness; the right trainer can help anyone learn new methods to improve their health and well being.

Are there any issues or behaviors you won't tackle?
No, we are honored to work with the toughest pets and on the most difficult issues. Typically there are three issues that most trainers will not, or cannot train- and we are happy to help you with any and all of them: 1) Aggression 2) Separation Anxiety 3) Involuntary Peeing If your pet has any of these issues, then look no further, you've come to the right place!

How long are training sessions?
Our intake session lasts 2-3 hours and our training sessions typically last 1 hour, but everything can be customized to fit the needs of you and your pet.

How do you know you can train MY dog?
The bulk of our customers aren't calling us for easy-peasy pets that are low maintenance. Most of our customers have tried the basics, watched the videos and read the books, but had no luck. We are thrilled to tell you that yes, we can train your pet. Our methods are effective and our results last. Our lessons are customized for every situation so they consistently provide great results for even the most challenging pet scenarios.

We had an amazing experience with Andrew and Black Belt Canine Academy from start to finish. We began with the puppy training and saw results almost immediately, our puppy became potty trained quickly and started picking up basic commands with ease. The leash training alone made a huge difference in our day-to-day routine. Because of how well things were going, we decided to invest in additional sessions for our older dog, who had developed a few inconvenient behaviors over the years. Andrew was just as effective with her, and we noticed real, lasting improvements. By the end of our training, both of our dogs are well behaved, and we feel confident bringing them out in public knowing they’ll listen and behave appropriately. Additionally, they know and. listen to commands when given in the home. Beyond the results, we were really impressed with the Andrew's philosophy, depth of knowledge, and overall professionalism. This experience was absolutely worth it, and we would highly recommend Andrew and Black Belt Canine Academy to anyone looking for real results.

This particular pack consists of 11 dogs with a diverse DNA, comprising 29 different breeds. Andrew was able to break down this genetic information in a clear and understandable manner.
