Bigfork Dog Training

Wilson completed puppy training, beginning at 8 weeks, with Bigfork Dog Training. 5 months later, when I knew we had to be out of town, I reached out to Tara to schedule a board and train session. Tara did a fantastic job with Wilson. She stayed in contact with us throughout Wilson’s stay, providing training updates and pictures of his mile stones. She focused on the problem behaviors we identified, and sent us home with a calm, confident and coachable puppy. She also did a fabulous job coaching us, as dog owners, on how to continue Wilson’s training day to day. I am so happy to recommend Bigfork Dog Training. Tara definitely knows how to bring out the best in our furry family members.

In spite of numerous classes over the years, including obedience, fitdog, scent and agility, we were not able to get our Canine Good Citizenship, as my standard poodle was always too exuberantly playful around other dogs. I took the Intermediate Obedience class with Tara, with the goal of getting him neutral with dogs and high energy places. With her help, we were able to improve our communication and focus, and help him find relaxation. The end result was finally achieving our CGC, and having a dog that can stay focused in spite of distractions.

We had the best experience with Tara! We were looking for a place for our 1 yo border Collie to go while we went on a trip - but I am very picky with who are dogs go to. Additionally we are still training him (and struggling). A friend recommended Tara and I'm so glad they did! She was professional, friendly, and made me feel very comfortable leaving our dog with her. Never once did I feel worried about how he was doing. She sent pictures, videos, and updates throughout the 2 weeks she had him. Upon pickup I wasn't sure what to expect. I was happy to see that even though our dog was so excited to see us, he was also excited to play and interact with Tara. It was clear he was comfortable and being loved while we were gone - which is what I wanted! My husband wasn't sure if a two week board and train would be enough to help with walking on leash, jumping and general settling in the house but we've already seen a HUGE improvement since we've been home! We can walk without being pulled over, has rarely jumped, and settles SO much better and just is an overall calmer dog! Amazing! It's very clear Tara knows what she's doing, has plenty of experience, and loves the animals she works with. I couldn't have asked for a better place to board and train our boy! I just wish we were closer so we could do her training classes!
