Ben at Beyond the Dog was an amazing trainer. We had bitten off more than we could chew with our husky-mix rescue, Nyx. She came to us completely untrained at about a year old. She was destructive, not a good listener, and overwhelmed our other dog. It became apparent we needed help to get her acclimated to our home and to our mini-Aussie, Titan. We checked many sources and Beyond the Dog was the best fit for us, as they come to the home and work with the dogs in their environment. Ben took our chaos goblin and turned her into a lovely pet with appropriate boundaries. She's still a husky mix, so she doesn't like following the rules, but she'll do it! Best of all, Ben helped us work with Titan as well, who was always extremely wary of visitors. Ben's expertise was such that he picked up on the overall problems that both our pets experienced and addressed them both individually and together. Having guests used to be painful, now our dogs are both polite and at ease. As word of advice, if your dog's behavioral issues relate to people, you may need to have friends, co-workers, or neighbors available to stop by during your training sessions so that your dog(s) can interact with them. This service is absolutely worth it, but the owners need to be willing to participate and learn the processes that are being used for continual success. Finally, a few thoughts on Ben and Beyond the Dog's approach for training. Ben had great rapport with our dogs, even our keyed-up little Aussie, but knew when to be firm as well. Both Beyond the Dog's and Ben emphasize positive reinforcement as the primary means of motivation. This was a major selling point for us as we're leery of more aggressive/punitive approaches to training. Ben was very reliable and an excellent communicator for upcoming scheduling as well as recapping the week's lessons. We had no shortage of resources, and still have the ability to ask questions as needed. We are so happy we chose Beyond the Dog for our pets.

Beyond the Dog worked their magic with our puppy! I couldn’t believe how quickly Rue picked up on her training. I can rave enough about Shyenne. I always appreciate her answering questions through texts or phone calls, you can tell she loves what she does. Her program notes are always detailed and easy to follow. During our weekly follow ups she would go through all that Rue learned and make sure I could continue the training and always asked what was most important for her to learn or work on. We will continue to use her as we progress into the maintenance part of the program. Highly recommend!!!

We had an excellent experience working with Abby and Beyond the Dog! We have two dogs and our newly adopted dog, Goose, needed some training to address major leash reactivity, excessive barking, and basic obedience. We enrolled him in the All-Inclusive program. We also had a newborn at the time training started so it was incredibly convenient to have the training sessions start at our home each day rather than try to get out of the house with a newborn, toddler and two dogs. Abby worked with us and Goose to come up with realistic solutions for managing unwanted behaviors and made sure that we understood the training so that we would continue to practice with Goose and Eva (our other dog) outside of sessions. We have seen remarkable improvements in Goose's obedience and confidence! Walking him is enjoyable now and Eva has benefitted from some of the in-home training for door manners too. We plan to schedule follow-up sessions to address some of Eva's specific behaviors that we need guidance in addressing. I highly recommend working with Abby and Beyond the Dog!

Beyond the Dog did a fantastic job with our dog Tali. Tali was a rescue German Shephard who was fantastic with us, but was a bit reactive and needed help walking without pulling. Shyenne worked with Tali for 6 weeks and completely changed her ability to walk with discipline and learned a number of new commands. Would absolutely recommend them. Tali is a few weeks post training and still doing wonderful!
