Beth Ericson-A Better Companion Pet Training

I’ve known Beth Ericson for 14 years. It was my good fortune to hear of her before I got my goldendoodle Wheeler with the intent to train him to be a therapy dog. She provided wise guidance on how to pick out my pup from his litter to best suit my intentions, and we then attended her basic and advanced dog trainings. She provided his testing for his canine good citizen testing, and prepared us for his therapy dog testing which he passed flawlessly. While Beth’s uncanny abilities to read dogs behaviors and address their needs to be their “best selves” is extraordinary, what truly sets her apart is her attunement to us dog owners and the myriad ways OUR behaviors and emotions can interfere with our dog’s adjustment. As a psychologist myself, I am trained to read people and their emotions-we spend 5 years in grad school learning these skills! Beth seems to naturally come by this perfect blend of assessing the dog/human relationship and fine tuning her training to ensure BOTH develop the skills to flourish regardless of the ultimate goals (house pet, show or therapy dogs). I’ve called upon Beth for countless needs over the course of Wheeler’s 14 years (e.g. impact of Wheeler being attacked and his resulting reactivity; impact on me when I was attacked by a dog) and she’s responded promptly, candidly and graciously. Wheeler the Healer is my one and only, and my patients will gladly attest to his gentle temperament and empathic demeanor. Without Beth’s expertise and generous ways of supporting and guiding us, I sincerely doubt we would have been such a successful therapeutic team. Beth has been helping me with training my dogs for about 8 years! She's the very best trainer in the Wichita area. She's come to our home, we've done private lessons, group lessons, and board and train with her. She's so knowledgeable and patient.
