Best Retrievers

We brought our puppy to Best Retrievers for Obedience and Gun Dog training, and we were so impressed with the results we decided to see how far she could go. Now, at 2 1/2 years old she has achieved her Junior, Senior and Master Hunter Titles and even earned a qualification to compete at the Master Nationals Competition in Idaho! During her training we were kept informed weekly by the trainer and even received videos weekly of her progress. They are all Professionals and very outgoing and friendly. They encourage owner participation in the training process, and even help train the owners to be better handlers. Their patience and guidance in incredible. They love your dog as much as the owners do. The dogs/puppies are examined monthly by their local Vet and are happy and well fed. Best training your money can buy. Gives your dog the baseline to become the family/hunting/competition dog you want. Highly recommend.

Like so many other families during the COVID lockdown, we decided to get a puppy. Our family friends have had a long-standing relationship with Best Retrievers and we decided to get a Labrador puppy from them. It was a very exciting experience for our whole family. We had placed a deposit for a pup from a specific litter. We got to see weekly picture updates on Facebook through the Best Retrievers Whelping Service site about all the puppies from that litter. When the day came to get our new family member, the Best Retrievers staff was super friendly and very helpful as we picked our new pup to bring home. Kristin is very knowledgeable and help explain some puppy basics before we left for home. Best Retrievers does have a Puppy Imprinting class what we did not take advantage of. We tried teaching our pup the basics over the summer. Not sure we did so good with that on our own. We did take advantage of their Gundog Training. It is a tremendous program. It is amazing what they have taught our dog in just a few months. The trainers are amazing and do a great job with keeping you up to date with what your pup is doing. We received photos and videos every Friday. When she finished, we got to come down and spend a couple hours with her trainer, Nathan, as he when through everything she was taught. They also taught us about her disrespectful behaviors and how to make corrections for that. Right now our pup is working toward getting her Junior title. Without Best Retrievers, she would never have been ready to do this. This is a great company and they really care about the dogs and customers that they work with. We will be Best Retrievers customers for life!!! I highly recommend them!

A training method that utilizes positive reinforcement. A trainer whom you and your dog are comfortable with. A trainer with availability. A trainer who understands your needs. A trainer who can effectively teach your dog what they need to know! A trainer who can teach YOU to teach your dog. A trainer who specializes in your specific needs if you are dealing with a particular behavioral problem. A trainer who provides the type of training you are looking for: one on one training sessions, group training classes, boarding training, etc. Experience The best dog trainer will not only be an effective trainer of animals, but they should be someone with experience. No, you don’t have to find a trainer who has been in business for thirty or more years, but if you want a top trainer, look for someone who has had time to work “hands-on” with enough dogs to refine their approach to canine training. Results Results are a crucial factor in finding the best dog trainer. Hiring someone to work with your pooch who cannot prove that their approach to training is successful and a healthy experience for the dogs in their program leaves questions and doubt. You should have neither when trusting a top trainer to work with your pet. Reputation A top dog trainer who has experience and results under their belt is a trainer who has a reputation that precedes them. They are the trainer who is highly spoken of and often recommended because their program is effective and their results are proven, whether through word of mouth and references from your friends and family, great online reviews, responses on forums, articles, rankings and so forth. We caved like so many during Covid and got a puppy. And then we found ourselves in late 2020 with an unruly puppy that we loved, but if I'm being honest, didn't like very much. She was out of control and not a lot of fun to have around. Enter Best Retrievers and their obedience program that saved us. We picked our dog up for a long weekend over New Years, and at only 4 weeks into her training, we could tell she was a different lady. She was suddenly a joy to have around, and she actually listened. At 6 weeks, I tried to tell them that that they must have the wrong dog. What we came to find out very quickly is that Best Retrievers is the definition of a family run organization. It's full of super sweet and kind folks that want the best for you and your dog. Everyone out there works so hard. Do yourself a favor and send your dog to Best. These guys are the zen masters of dog training, and we couldn't be more grateful for the ways in which they've guided us to right here with a companion we love so very much.
