Pat has been amazing. We got Riley, our toy poodle, in April 2020, and she is the definition of a Covid pup. She lacked proper socialization as a puppy and developed strong separation anxiety. Taking her anywhere with children or other dogs became impossible as she would be reactive and nervous the entire time. I knew Pat would be a perfect fit because she has dogs of her own and offers boarding to previous “BPFK9 grads” so it would help Riley safely acclimate to being around other dogs. Pat also helped teach us the skills and tools needed to ensure that we can properly communicate with Riley and not inadvertently encourage unwanted behaviors. I was worried that 4 years old may be too old to correct some of her issues, but Pat has helped us work through them and now Riley is able to be more confident and less reactive, and we have the tools and knowledge to help her do so. I highly recommend Pat – she truly loves what she does and cares for the “students” as if they’re her own. We are very grateful to have her in our lives!

Pat and Best Paw Forward K9 training has changed our lives! From the second I first spoke with Pat, I knew she had our family's best interest at heart. We have a rescue German Shepherd, Jake, and he had so much energy! Pat kept him through her three week immersion program and he's doing incredible. Jake had so much energy and needed to "harness" that energy and make good choices. Pat gave us all the tools and information we needed to make this a lifestyle change. Pat has increased Jake's (and our) quality of life as a family. We are actually able to have family dinner together while Jake stays on his"place". Pat has been such a help for our new puppy! We’ve had dogs in the past but knew we were going to have a big dog on our hands with our newest puppy, a bloodhound mix. We contacted Pat early on and she helped us for the weeks leading up to the training, giving us tips to start working on before he went to her board and train. She was always available for questions. We met with her before his session and she gave us tools to practice. Our puppy is young and rambunctious, and while we didn’t have behavioral concerns yet, we wanted to nip any potentially bad behaviors in the bud. He left for his training when he was just over 4 months and Pat stayed in touch the whole time, providing us updates. I was worried he would lose some of his goofy puppiness and Pat was so nice in reassuring me. When we got him back, he had learned so much! And he is still very much his goofy self. It’s obvious how much Pat cares about her clients - she’s been checking in regularly since we picked him up and we’ve already scheduled boarding with her again soon. I know he will be excited to see her! He is walking on the leash better, going to his kennel with no problem and staying in “place”. I’m so impressed by what he learned in just 3 weeks and at such a young age! I’m excited to see how much he learns and grows thanks to Pat. Thank you, Pat!!!

I highly recommend Pat and her training program. From the first time I ever spoke with Pat, it was clear the level of commitment and passion she has for helping dogs and their owners. She was working with us to improve our relationship with our Beagle, Hank, and some of his trickier habits from the get-go, really emphasizing that she was going to be there for us every step of the way. Hank had a number of struggles going into his time with Pat (barking/whining, pulling on walks, and an overall nervousness that leads to behavior problems whenever he is in an unfamiliar environment). When Hank showed off his new skills at our take-home lesson yesterday, we really were blown away by how much Pat was able to accomplish with him in 3 short weeks. Our walks have been going really well, and we now have a level of leadership with our stubborn little guy that we never thought was possible. We are seeing what awesome things he is capable of when we have the tools to build his confidence, While we still have a ways to go with Hank's training, Pat gave us the knowledge and the tools to know that we could take him home and continue the work she laid the foundation for. We're really excited to continue to build Hank's training and know Pat is always just a phone call away. We already scheduled for Hank to go back to Pat for structured boarding when we're on vacation this summer. Send your dog to Pat - you both will make a lifelong friend :)
