Best Dog Training Academy

Our pit mix had become really reactive toward other dogs and some people, especially on walks. We were nervous taking him out in public, and honestly didn’t know where to turn. A friend referred us to Best Dog Training Academy, and from the first conversation with Whitney, we felt hopeful. She completely understood the issues we were dealing with and had a calm, confident approach that immediately put us at ease. We signed up for the Board & Train program, and it was worth every penny. Our dog came back with a totally different mindset — still the sweet dog we love, but now able to stay calm, listen to commands, and focus even around distractions. The training didn’t just change his behavior — it changed our daily lives. Walks are no longer stressful, and we finally feel confident again. Whitney was amazing with communication and gave us the tools to keep it going at home. If you’re struggling with a reactive dog, don’t wait. This program truly works.

Truly life-changing for us and our dog. I came to Best Dog Training Academy feeling overwhelmed and honestly a little hopeless. Before Whitney, Lola (pure bread German Shepard) was highly reactive, couldn’t be left alone, and high anxiety. Walking her around the block was nearly impossible for us as adults and was a no-go for our kids. We enrolled Lola in a two-week board and train, with the goal of being able to take her to baseball games with us. While that felt like a long shot, Whitney took the challenge on and didn’t scoff at the idea. We got daily updates on how Lola was doing, how she was taking to the training, acknowledgment that she was super stubborn (which made us feel like we weren’t horrible dog parents), tips for the future, etc. When she came home, she was a different dog. Whitney sets you up for success and it’s up to you to follow through with the tools she gives you. Lola just spent a week back for a tune up and once again her habits that were slipping are back in place. Whitney’s experience and tips for reactivity have been spot on and have helped us manage Lola and balance her anxiety without medicating her. Whitney also loves your dog, I trust that she is training them like they are hers and keeps them safe and in the best mental space for them. She is truly the only person I would trust Lola with. Ps: Lola has made it to baseball practice and we will venture to at least one game this year.

I can’t say enough great things about Whitney and her dog training program! She has an incredible amount of patience and a true love for animals, which really shows in her work. My Australian Labradoodle puppy is like a completely different dog after working with her. She’s now more obedient, less reactive, and our walks have become so much more enjoyable because she knows how to heel. I’ve also noticed she’s much more polite in general. Whitney’s guidance has made such a positive impact on both my pup and me. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a skilled and compassionate trainer.
