Best By Farr Dog Training

My chocolate lab puppy Tally Roux and I began obedience training with Chris in July 2025, when she was 5 months old. Since then, we have continued with Chris in laying the groundwork for field trials. That is how excellent of a trainer Chris is for both the dog and its handler. The experience has been transformational for both Tally and for me. Despite my having raised six labs—Tally is number 7–over the course of four decades, I have developed skills that make me a more versatile and competent handler. And it is gratifying to “see the pieces come together,”as Chris said. I can envision Tally in the field—the “journey,” to use Chris’s training metaphor, with Tally and with Chris, continues. Hard work, it is… and fun and rewarding!

Our rescue Sully is a 4 year old Shihtzu/Bichon mix. He spent most of his life in a crate so the outside is a scary place for him. He was highly reactive to people and other dogs. Walking him on a leash was impossible. We could not take him on walks with our other dog. We chose the 3 week board and train with Chris. We got back a totally different dog! Sully knows how to go to his place and stay there, he knows down,and he walks on his leash with very little reaction to anything. Most importantly we learned how to "speak" Sully's language. Chris explains things in easy to understand scenarios. His knowledge of dog behaviors is outstanding! He was always available to answer any of our questions. If you are looking for a trainer to make your life with your dog more joyful-Chris is it. I can not thank him enough for teaching us right along with Sully.

After dropping my puppy off for basic training I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I received videos with updates showing my puppies progress as she learned. When it was time to pickup up our puppy is when the real surprise happened, we actually got trained too! We now understand what commands to give and more importantly how to give them correctly without confusing our puppy. We were giving mixed signals and encouraging bad behavior without even knowing it. ———-I highly recommend “Best by Farr” for training you and your dog and we will be taking our pup back for advanced training when she is old enough.

An outstanding experience for both puppy and owner with remarkable results! I paid to have my puppy previously trained, but I was having difficulty keeping up and regretted the expense. After 3 weeks of Leo's training with Chris and 3 follow-on sessions for both of us, Leo and I are happy and have bonded even better than before. Best by Farr is such a suitable name.
