3 week board and train review: Chris did an excellent job with my golden-doodle. She is almost 2 years old and has had some previous training. He provided high level obedience training for her while giving me clear and concise explanations for things throughout the process. The post boarding lessons were very beneficial and he laid out how to continue training at home. I couldn’t be happier with the results and would highly recommend sending your dog to him!

Chris Farr is an amazing trainer of dogs and teacher of their humans. We brought our 3.5-year Pitbull-Poodle-Lab-Chow Mix to him for three weeks of training -- and then our 8-month-old Mini Bernedoodle puppy for one week of training. When we first added our puppy to our household, our lives with both dogs became very chaotic and stressful. We felt like we had lost control and were at our wits end! When we picked up our pups from Chris at the completion of training, not only did they have new skills to show off -- they were so much calmer and happier (and as a result, WE are so much calmer and happier). And because of all that Chris taught us in our 3 follow up sessions, we also have learned so much. We have new skills and a fresh understanding of our dogs' psychology -- their expectations and their motivations; what makes them insecure and what makes them feel confident. This was such a great investment for us: Knowing that we have a decade-plus of joy and togetherness vs. a decade plus of chaos and frustration is worth every penny. I cannot recommend Best by Farr dog training more!

We had an excellent experience with Chris Farr at Best by Farr! Our dogs are so well behaved now and they understand what we are asking them! We have two sweet labs (5 and 6 years old) who are wonderful around the house and with other people, but they hit another level when we take them on a walk. My husband and I love to be outdoors and go on hikes or walk the greenways, but our walks can go from enjoyable to dreadful, especially if there are other dogs around. Our dogs would consistently pull on the leash, making our arms sore after a few miles, and they would bark and lunge at other dogs passing by. It was an embarrassment to walk them on the crowded greenways, especially when the weather is great and everyone has their dog with them! We are expecting our first child in a few months, and we really wanted our dogs to be able to walk nicely alongside the stroller so that we can have the freedom to go outside on walks as a family, and not have to leave the dogs at home or avoid family friendly areas. We decided to invest in training our dogs, and I found Chris's website where he had a plethora of videos of dogs that he had trained to walk nicely. Let's just say that I was sold by the videos alone! I filled out his contact form online and we spoke the next day. We decided to go with the private lessons over the board and train, because we wanted to learn all of the tools ourselves and work with our dogs every step of the way. We also want to have these tools for any future dogs that we acquire. We just finished our 6-week package and our dogs are doing so well! They can heel nicely on the leash, they don't bark or lunge at other dogs, and I feel so much more confident walking them in public! Chris also helped us to introduce the stroller to them so that we could practice before the baby comes. We even taught them "place," so that when the doorbell rings, we tell them to go to place (a raised dog bed) and we can open the front door without them barking or jumping on people. It has been a true game changer! I will say that, if you do the private lessons, in order to see results, you need to commit to putting in the work with your dog - at least 30 minutes per dog, twice a day. Dog training requires time and consistency, so if you are not able to put in the work, you will not see the results (and board and train might be your best option). We were fortunate enough to have the time to work with our dogs each day, and we have really seen an incredible improvement over the past six weeks! I could not recommend Chris enough - our dogs impress me every day, and we now have the tools to keep them on track with our expectations. Five stars! ✨

We have an 8 month old GSP. Before sending our dog Daisy to Chris, she was out of control and we were all getting very frustrated. Walking her on a leash was impossible and she would often plow our two small kids over with her energy. Now, our 6 year old can take her for a walk, I can walk and run with her with no leash, and she is very enjoyable to be around. Her obedience has far exceeded our expectations and we are forever grateful to Chris and his training and education. The most valuable thing I got from Chris was his instruction. I find myself enjoying work with my dog each day and I can tell how much she loves it too. I can’t say enough good things about Best By Far Dog training!
