Best Behaved Pups

If you do not have time to read this entirely, the most important thing that I can say to you is...If you think your dog(s) cannot be trained to do something, Karyn @ Best Behaved Pups is YOUR MUST-HAVE TRAINER. BACKGROUND After I experienced the loss of my husband & brother within a 12- month period, Karyn SAVED MY HOUSEHOLD. My family adopted sibling huskies, Luna & Loki, in 2017 (just a few weeks old). Unbeknownst to us, sibling puppies are hard to train because of their bond & desire to be with each other. F-FWD 4 yrs (2021), Luna & Loki are happy dogs, play well with each other & the immediate household, but hey do not tolerate visitors in our home (yes, they have barked for hours until our visitors left). In Feb. 2021, my brother died, and his Lab mix, Midnight, was the alpha from his household. He adored her & she adored him, as he rescued her one night from a dog fight as a young puppy. She was so protective of my brother who had broken 70+ bones in a motorcycle accident, that his other two dogs had to stay in an air-conditioned ‘puppy mansion’ that he built. She was traumatized - I simply had to adopt Midnight, now 8 yrs old. When we brought Midnight into our home, we were terrified at the reaction the two females (Luna & Midnight) had with one another, and over the course of a year, we ‘rotated’ the huskies & the lab from access to our common living areas, to two separate bedrooms. For one year, we occasionally tried but failed to integrate the dogs and both the dogs & the family were held hostage by the situation. My husband spent most of the last 6 months of 2021 in our bedroom so that the huskies (now a bit depressed) would have the interaction that they were more accustomed to. Feb. 2022, after nearly 6 weeks of fighting COVID in the hospital, my husband of 25 years & high school sweetheart, died. And if that weren’t enough, in Jan 2021 & July 2021, I shattered my left wrist & right femur, respectively, both requiring surgery & I did not regain full use of either. (Truth is stranger than fiction – all of this happened in this 12-month period). Now, I am a widow with partial strength for walking "sled dogs" who love to pull, dislike visitors as well as their new roommate, Midnight, & bark incessantly... what to do? I could not handle anymore loss & was terrified that I might break another bone. My daughter found Karyn & we gave her a try…it was the BEST thing that happened in a long time at my home. KARYN SAVES THE HOUSEHOLD Karyn’s 1st visit at my home was fruitful within the first 10 minutes…remember that incessant barking when visitors came by? Done, solved, we were taught how to address, & it worked immediately. During the 1st visit we kept the dogs separate & worked with the huskies primarily on simple commands & leash training. We did our homework & continued with the training & on the 2ND visit, one week later, we walked all three dogs on leashes TOGHETHER on the sidewalk just a few footsteps apart. On 3RD visit, we began crate training & exposing the dogs to one another inside our home. By the 4TH visit they tolerated each other without incident & between the 4TH & 5TH visit, we left all three at home in the main living area TOGETHER for a couple of hours. ARE THESE THE SAME DOGS??? If only my husband could have witnessed this...in fact, I texted Karyn that evening & sent a pic showing them altogether & dubbed her a “LifeSaver”. It gets better, as part of the next few sessions, we began to be able to take all three dogs out in public (inside Home Depot, Famers Market, etc.) - WITH OTHER DOGS & PEOPLE. A stranger even said that our three were the “Best Behaved Dogs” they have ever seen & that their dog could not behave this well. Little did they know how it was before. I pointed out Karyn’s Business name & encouraged them to give her a try…it truly SAVED MY HOUSEHOLD – 6 months later, I still have all three dogs, I can walk them together, leave them at home, & the dogs are not a source of stress at all.
