Barks & Recreation

I cannot rate Jen and Barks & Rec high enough, five stars doesn't cut it. I have a puppy mill mama who is so traumatized she is afraid of humans. She also doesn't know how to play because she never interacted with dogs. Not only is Jen taking on the training of my little nugget but she is basically my therapist now :D It has been so stressful trying to help my doggo through all her trauma and Jen has become my support. I trust her with my most precious little friend and I trust her to only have the best, most loving staff. I have worked with another trainer in Eau Claire, and I rate Barks & Rec higher. If you want to work with a trainer, absolutely choose Jen. Every time I show up to drop my dog off, there are dogs all around having a great time. They're always under control, but obviously enjoying themselves. Everyone has been friendly and accommodating to my dog's special needs. Every time I pick my dog up, she is happy and exhausted. I enjoy getting report cards and pictures showing her progress and fun day. This traumatized little fur ball is always happy to go to Barks & Rec. I can't rate other daycare and boarding places because I've only been to Barks & Rec, but I do highly encourage you to choose them.

Rescued our pup at 5 months old. Did basic obedience training locally, took him out on field trips regularly but despite our best efforts, his fear and aggressive behavior towards people continued to get worse. We were ready to return him to the rescue. After several phone calls to find a trainer, we found Jen. She spent almost an hour on the phone to learn the specifics of our situation. We met in person and decided on a 3 week board and train. Waldo has been so much better since we have gotten him back. He is a much more confident dog. He still has times where he needs reassurance with people but those times are few and far between. He is much better on walks and we are no longer fearful of his reactions out in public. I cannot say enough about Jen and her staff.
