We got our German Shepherd at 9 weeks old, and as time went on, we knew we had to be proactive dog parents to prevent reactivity issues. We love adventure, and one of our biggest priorities was being able to take our fur baby with us to explore the world. In the beginning, Miles struggled with leash pulling, lacked boundaries and social skills, and was highly reactive to other dogs, bikes, and motorcycles. We quickly realized that structure was essential for him, so we reached out to Bark Buster Home Dog Training - that turned out to be the best decision we could have made. From our very first session with our trainer, Justin, we saw an immediate difference. He set the tone right away, and it felt like night and day. One of the things we appreciated most was Justin’s ability to simplify the learning process. He didn’t just train the dog—he trained us too. He helped us understand canine behavior and taught us how to communicate our expectations in a way that made sense to our pup (instead of just speaking English and hoping for the best!). After just three weeks, our dog is so focused on walks that I actually enjoy walking him now. At only six months old, he’s become so much more mature. He’s learning to socialize, he’s calm, and his reactivity has drastically reduced. The best advice I can offer: trust Justin to help build a strong foundation, but be prepared to put in the work. Brig, (The Humane Society Special) is adorable, energetic and funny, yet showed leash aggression in busy Little Italy, San Diego. With dogs on every corner, it was time to call in Bark Busters! After a consult, Jenna was quick to meet us at our home and helped us immediately implement strategies for both in-home and outside reactivity. She helped us understand pack behavior and how to help Brig stay “in the green”. In just 2 weeks we were able to go camping with many other dogs. With her guidance over the last month, he has greatly improved on his city-life walks and reactivity to other dogs. Jenna has been responsive, smart and attentive, and highly professional. The various training walks, text exchanges, and phone calls for advice have been so helpful. She earned our 5-star rating for Bark Busters. The reasonable fee covers Brig for life and we feel confident in their commitment to support his ongoing improvement. We’re not there yet, but we will be!

James with Bark Busters was amazing. I have struggled with my dog of nine years in regarding leash reactivity, incessant barking at the door and aggression to other dogs for a long time. I tried many times to work on training her myself with treats and positive reinforcement however, despite some improvement, the underlying issues still existed. My goal is to get another dog at some point and foster animals when needed. As I was unable to do that, I got in touch with Bark Busters . Surprisingly, within one session, Chloe was much improved. We continue practicing every day and although it is a work in progress, I have seen her made so much stride. James has been very helpful and responsive, even when I started fostering a puppy. I highly recommend Bark Busters .

I have absolutely nothing but positive things to say about BarkBusters. Justin is very professional and very passionate about dogs and helping dog owners better understand their pets. That being said, we contacted BarkBusters for our 1.3 yr old rescue dog, Jax. Jax was unruly and mouthy, he was stressed out all of the time, and so were we. His biggest issues were pulling on the leash and mouthing, having a 60lb dog mouth you and completely shred a puffer jacket while you’re still wearing it was grounds for some serious concern. These issues went away once Justin came over and showed us how to set boundaries. We are able to better communicate with our dog, and now our home is significantly less stressful. Jax is a new dog, he is so much happier; and now we can actually see his true personality. Thanks to Justin from BarkBusters we are now able to enjoy our super sweet and incredibly goofy dog.

Oh. My. Dog. Seriously. They're not enough words to describe how amazing Bark Busters was. We had a 10 yr old 70 lb rescue (pitbull/rhodesian ridgeback mix) who had a checkered past (had been used as a bait dog). We have had her for 9 years and she's been good. Iffy with some dogs so we just kept her out of dog parks. Mid January we rescued another dog (pitbull/staffy/? Mix) He is about 1yr old and was found running in a parking lot, emaciated. Well introductions didn't go well. He was partially house trained and knew how to sit but had NO doggy manners at all. He'd pull horribly on the leash, jump and climb all over us and the other dog. At which point she'd growl and then he'd try to bite her Throat. It was at the point we had baby gates installed and had to keep them separate. We were desperate And worried we might have to send the new dog back to the Humane Society. ONE SESSION with Justin, at our home and the difference was LITERALLY night and day. I even had the two of them laying in our bed together! He walks nicely on the leash now, and we can even FEED them together!!! I can't say ENOUGH about this trainer. NO shock collar/prong collar/choke chain needed. And no excessive use of treats needed. I know. sounds like voodoo or something but IT WORKS. He's pricier than your standard "obedience" training but it's worth it!!! He works with you AND the dog. He comes to you so your dog is being trained in the home environment. TLDR: BEST. TRAINER. EVER. Worth every penny! YOU WANT THIS TRAINER. TRUST ME. *Edited to add a pupdate*. Sadly in November our older dog Shady crossed the Rainbow Bridge so Hartsy is now an only dog (with a cat that stays in a different pet of the apt.
