Best decision we made was enrolling our dog into the Dream Dog training program. We were nervous because she was about ten months old and we were worried about having to board her for the duration of the training. Truthfully, it was harder on us that it was on her! Ryan is so friendly and so good at what he does (Mabel adores him) and his staff is incredible. When we first reached out to Bark & Biscuit about their training program we were introduced to Quinn who was quick to answer all of our questions - and we had a lot. She made us feel much more comfortable about the process and what to expect. During the training, the staff would send us daily report cards describing Mabel’s day, her progress in the program, and some of the most adorable photos of Mabel having a great time on walks, in training, and playing with other dogs. She truly looked like she was having the greatest time. After Mabel graduated from the training, it was our turn to learn. We had a few sessions with Ryan where we learned all about how Mabel was trained and how to keep it going at home. He was always accessible whenever we had questions, which was really helpful. The most obvious change in Mabel after training was walking her on a leash. Before training she was pulling us all over the place and would go crazy if she saw another dog. Taking her on walks was exhausting and frustrating. Now she walks beside us and is much more calm when seeing another dog. She also used to be afraid of random objects like strollers, kids on scooters, trash cans, and even a snowman. After training most of these things don’t bother her anymore, and though she still alerts us to new objects she’s not familiar with in the house, after we tell her to be brave she will sniff the object and leave it alone. Her training has allowed us to take her to outdoor cafes and she even went to Blues and Brews at Snowbasin, where there are lots of dogs, people, and food smells, and she did amazing! She is now very good with all sorts of commands, she’s quick to learn, and she is incredible off leash! The Dream Dog training program is absolutely worth it. It lays down such a great foundation for good behavior and continued learning. One other thing we were worried about was her personality changing, but she is still her adorably goofy self. The training program has enhanced our lives with her because we can take her to more places with us. It also has allowed us all to live more in harmony rather than frustration. We wholeheartedly recommend this program, Ryan, and the team at Bark & Biscuit.
