Back to Balance Canine

I was lucky enough to meet Dallas at a pet store. The GS puppy she was attached to was calmly sitting on the floor looking at us, and my dog Kona, a 7 month old GS puppy, was attempting to drag us over to play. Not our finest hour in terms of owner/dog performance, but it did inspire further conversation. We clearly needed help:). I took the opportunity to set up an evaluation meeting with Dallas where she was able to witness the ways Kona was challenging me and my family: pulling us on leash; reacting to strangers, and even friends, in a way we were not happy with; and several other bad habits. It was a hard decision, but we decided to enroll Kona in Dallas' 4 week board and train program, and we are more than delighted by the outcome. Now Kona is a very good walker on leash; drops what she is doing and runs dutifully up to me and sits waiting for the next command when the recall command “here" is issued; and she happily spends time at home in her “place" (she seems to understand her role in place and is actually happy to be there while we work, cook, feed the cats, etc). Although she sometimes sneaks in a growl or two when someone initially enters our home or backyard, she will not leave her “place" (amazing)! We then have the chance to greet our friends and let Kona say hello to them once everyone is settled in. We highly recommend Dallas and Back to Balance! She was a pleasure to work with - and there is zero chance we could have gotten Kona to this level ourselves. After a month of having her home she is retaining all the good habits and we have forgotten those 4 long weeks while she was away in training. When Dallas came to our home for a follow up training session, Kona was very happy to see her. That says a lot!
