BA K9 Training

My experience with Frida and Ben at BA K9 completely transformed how I interact with dogs. I first met Frida when we both adopted Shikoku puppies from the same litter back in 2022. As a first-time dog owner about to take in a demanding breed, I reached out to Frida based on the breeder's recommendation. And despite living far away in NYC, I witnessed her incredible work with Roxas while she helped me make progress with Roxas' brother from afar. When I adopted my second Shikoku, Duke, this past January, I knew from round one that his training would require a lot of effort. Living in a rural area where off-leash obedience is essential, I wanted to go beyond basic commands to ensure Duke would act predictably in new situations. The work that Frida and Ben did with Duke was phenomenal. Duke was a pretty mellow dog when I dropped him off, but he had a history of "escalations" around other males. I was worried he wouldn't take the adjustment well. But with Frida's help, he was able to find a place in the pack. And I'm surprised at how quickly he's able to adapt around new dogs now. The plan they made for Duke took into account his history, his personality, and my own capabilities as a novice dog owner. Frida and Ben were available after to give guidance when I needed it. And while I have reached out for help a few times, for the most part, the relationship they helped me build with Duke has been enough. My dog and I trust each other now. He looks to me for guidance, and with the tools I learned, I'm able to communicate how I want him to behave, most of the time without even using commands. The unexpected result was how tightly my dog and I were able to bond after his training. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough. BA K9 really is the gold standard in dog training. Incredibly grateful for the impact they've had on Duke's life and mine.

LIFE CHANGING!!!!! For me, my family, and my Rottweiler. Ben and his team focus on dog psychology, teaching your dog to see you as the pack leader with established boundaries. I cannot put into words how radically different my Rottweiler is; he used to be fearful and scared around new people. He is now bold and confident. Trust BAK9 ALWAYS!!! Note: just as your dog will need to change, so will you. Ben and his team will guide you to change your habits and you will need to stick through them. If I could rate 10/5 stars, I would. Again, life changing.

Ben and his team have performed wonders with Remi! We learned more on our first visit with Ben than we had with 3-4 other trainers. He challenged us, and we accepted the challenge! We take Remi to see Ben and Frieda at least twice a week. Remi “knows” when it’s the day to go. She is a different dog now. She still loves to play, but is very patient and careful with our infant granddaughters. BTW, Remi is a 90# german shepherd, Great Pyrenees mix. She loves to go see all her dog friends and Ben and Frieda! Five stars all across the board!!!!
