Azalea Dog Training Club

To be clear, this review is not about the dog training. This is about the mean horrendous gray haired lady who works there. I got a flat tire in front of their shop. I got a compressor to reinflate it and and needed an outlet to charge the compressor. The lady who was in the shop would not allow my husband in to ask a question and yelled at him when he tried to open the door. She said it was because there was a dog inside, but she wouldnt even allow him to ask a question. I thought maybe he just scared her so I went to the back, knocked politely. She yelled through the glass to ask what I wanted. I asked if I could speak with her. She barely cracked the door. When I asked if there was an outlet I couod use to power my compressor she said she could not help me and they dont have anything like that. I said you dont have an outlet? She replied that they (the azalea dog club) doesnt do anything like that and if we need help to go down to the corner coffee shop because they help the community. She was extremely rude to both my husband and I and i hope to never ever meet her in person again. This place only cared about dogs and your money, but not people.

Absolutely fabulous trainer and facility! What a Wilmington gem! We learned about ADTC through a friend who ran into a perfectly well-behaved dog while on a walk and found out that the owner and dog had been through a class or two at ADTC. We quickly called ADTC and the nice person who answered the phone gave us instructions on how to register for a class and gave us advice on which class to register. After the first class, our dog seemed to see me as the leader of the pack, and not him. Our trainer, Susan Jackson, was so patient and answered all of the owners' many questions. She knew and understood each dog very quickly -- a true dog whisperer. The new skills that our pup learned were something we had been trying to teach him for a long time. After the first class, our dog got so excited and happy when we turned on Market Street and headed for the facility! He LOVED learning! We just registered for another session, and hope to continue and take many more over the next year. We are happy to say that he earned his "Good Canine Citizen Ribbon!"

I cannot express the level of expertise they have concerning dogs and their care. They are extremely patient with new and anxious dog owners like myself. One of my dogs is extremely reactionary and so they’ve provided helpful tips with navigating that as well as guiding me through tips for having a new puppy. I appreciate them and they are, hands down, my go to for anything dog related. I highly recommend :)
