Mary Jo is very good with my Rottweiler puppy Ozzy. She handled his training from puppy class, level one, level two, level three, and into Canine Good Citizen. Mary Jo enjoys seeing the love between the human and their doggo, this is not some doggy boot camp, but instead a place where you build structure with love for your furry friend. Steve is Mary Jo's husband, and he oversees the dog park along with running the trailing/tracking classes. Steve does a great job recognizing when dogs need to be separated if cortisol levels are too high and gives great tips when he recognizes potentially troubling behavior. You hear horrifying stories about other dog parks, but at Awesome Dawgs they take a number of precautions for open play from a 7 dog limit to a sprayed or neutered requirement (after 6 months) to a play evaluation to determine that right play environment for your dog. All open plays have a staff member in the park, but for those who want to wait to have your dog sprayed or neutered you can always reserve a private play session. Highly recommend both the training and dog park!
