Auntie Dog

Auntie Dog has been a godsend for my 1 year old, easily excitable Frenchie. I opted for one on one classes with Liz and couldn’t be happier with the progress after just a few weeks. She has incorporated dogs from her upper-level training classes for real-life scenario training, which is above and beyond for what I expected. My girl loves going to school each week and I love being able to comfortably walk her without pulling/jumping to greet people we pass. Thank you Liz!

I had initially thought it an exceptional place to get your dog all levels of professional training ! I had Highly recommended it... Months into it I swapped to a group class and a different trainer. It was then things changed.. first I was embarrassed I front of a big group class for my dog "being out of control" (that's why I was there) Then I came in a few minutes early without my dog to use the bathroom and was asked rather aggressively "do you have that dog in here"!.. I said no, just using the bathroom ?. "Fine.. enter the other door with her" Then after explaining a number of times what competitions we were going to be doing I was told "no, your not.. your doing _ _ _ " and was forced to practice actions detrimental to our goals... like "sitting for an exam".. Something you DONT want to do in a "CD" obedience trial or in conformation dog shows. It was doing us more harm than good and felt really not welcome. We began at another center in Westford and have since obtained a CD title.. A JH (junior hunter retrieving title) and are 3 points from her show Championship. So for the casual dog owner it's likely fine for you . For high level you may need something different.

Charlie and I started our journey with Auntie Dog last June, when my pup was 16 months old. Charlie had no behavioral issues, I just wanted to tighten up his obedience and just have fun and provide him some stimulation. He is such an intelligent dog, and I find working with your dog makes the bond that much stronger. I have learned so much, more than I could ever imagined, and we continue to learn. Charlie has since received his CGC and we continue to train in obedience and rally and hope that someday he will earn a title. Liz is wonderful and her years of experience shine through. I am very lucky to have made that first step in having her evaluate Charlie. Now it is part of our every week routine, and the handlers and other canine friends we have met really are a true community and we are happy to be part of it.
