Aunt Karen's Dog Behavior WNC

I went to Karen for some basic training and now we are doing agility classes with her. Her approach to training is positive and fun, but her knowledge on dog behavior has helped me tremendously. When I understand how my own actions impact my dog's behavior, I can make the needed changes to help us both. Karen's understanding and approach have been invaluable - I have learned more from her in the past few months than in the previous TWO years with another trainer.

Dog's whose owners choose Aunt Karen *really are lucky!!** My husband and I adopted a puppy from the humane society in mid-August. We're long-time dog owners, and have an almost 6 year-old male Havanese that we raised from 6 weeks old. We thought, "we've got this!" and VERY quickly learned that we did, in fact, not have this. Navigating a new puppy with a dog that (surprisingly) not thrilled about his new pack member, along with all the other challenges that come with a puppy. Every session with Karen leaves us feeling more positive, we know that our challenges are common challenges AND we have an action plan for every one. Our training with Pepper (and now our Havanese!) is positive, we work with our dogs and it's so nice to high five each other (and myself) and say, "We're doing it! We making a dog!" I don't know where we'd be without Karen's coaching and support. She's awesome!

Last year I had an unexpected dog addition to my household when a family member could no longer care for the dog. My life was turned upside down w/this new dog addition & her behavior. We could no longer take walks together as her leash aggression spread to all my dogs. I was extremely fortunate to find Aunt Karen who has been more than helpful to us! Karen uses only positive reinforcement & works to help owners and their dogs have a better bond, which leads to improved behavior. Karen helped me understand my dog’s thought process which then helped me to adjust my expectations & has led to a more success relationship with my dogs. Karen is always willing to answer questions and review skills that we have worked. She is able to calm my anxious personality w/her reassurance and guidance. She also frequently makes me laugh & have a good time training my dogs. I cannot recommend her enough if you would like to improve your relationship with your dogs which then can lead to improved dog behavior. ❤️
