Cassandra, we are taking this opportunity to clarify some important items stated in your review. Our training instructor demonstrated a Puppy Settle technique which is used extensively by reputable dog trainers, veterinarians and veterinarians who are also AKC Breeders of Merit. Puppy Settle is an effective and safe technique to teach puppies impulse control. While doing the Puppy Settle your puppy was safely held in both the instructors arms and yours while both of you were sitting on the ground. Your puppy’s body was supported at all times. <br><br>During your lesson your puppy aggressively bit our instructor in the knee and pants biting hard enough to cause pain. In response to the bite, our instructor restrained your puppy by the collar and held his muzzle closed to prevent additional biting. The pressure on the muzzle hold was not harsh nor severe. Our instructor did tell your puppy “No” to inform him that biting people is unacceptable.<br><br>Following your lesson you sent an email to our company. In that email you wrote: “On another note, (name withheld) was fantastic! She was so helpful and gave me so much hope that Boone can be a good boy and that I can learn! <br><br>This is one of several email communications between yourself and our company. <br><br>Originally you paid for your training package by credit card. Several days later you emailed us inquiring about refunding the training fees to your credit card as you wanted to pay by check to save the credit card processing fee.<br><br>We stated that we would be happy to issue a refund once we received payment by check. We require payment prior to scheduling lessons to prevent last minute cancellations (customer no-shows) and maintain the integrity of our in-home trainers’ schedules. This has been our policy for 30 years.<br><br>Once again you committed that you would be mailing a check for the training package. At this point you had already received one in-home lesson. Ten days later you inquired again about the status of the refund to your credit card. We informed you that we had yet to receive a replacement check.<br><br>Following this email conversation we received another email in which you expressed the same concerns listed in your review. This was a surprising turn of events based upon your statements of praise in an earlier email. <br><br>There was no explicit request to cancel your remaining training lessons. We responded once again to this email and shared the contents of your email with your instructor. <br><br>On the next scheduled lesson, our instructor arrived at your home. No one answered the door but a puppy was heard barking inside.<br><br>We are sorry that you did not find our services satisfactory . We have issued a refund to you and wish you the best with your puppy.<br>
