Audax K9 Academy

I am extremely grateful to Audax academy for all the work and progress we've made with my little anxious dinosaur. Gunner is very anxious and overly protective. Even walking him was a challenge as he would launch at people and dogs and would pull me the directions he wanted. He is much calmer now and listens to me most of the time. I am amazed how only 8 sessions worked out so great for us. Super loud shout out to our lovely trainer Christina! She is an amazing professional, educator and a person (I needed some of the education more than Gunner tbh). I strongly recommend this place to anyone who is serious about their furry babies well-being.

My wife and I have booked both private lessons and the 2 week board and train packages and both have been fantastic. Kimberly, Jason, and all of their trainers are extremely thoughtful and take a custom approach to each dog depending on their temperament and where they need the most work. The 2 week board and train was especially effective. We boarded 2 dogs (a german shepherd mix and a smaller beagle mix) with the goal of improving their attentiveness, walking on lease, and reactivity. The change was incredible. Kimberly did a great job at managing our expectations and making sure we knew that more work would be needed as training is never done. That said, our pups made incredible strides and we felt well equipped upon picking them up to continue the training they had started with. We 100% plan to continue working with Audax into the future!

I have had the privilege of working with Kim and Jason, the incredible owners and dog trainers at Audax, for close to 2 years and they have been instrumental in helping me train and build a remarkable relationship with my Belgian Malinois pup. I cannot speak highly enough of their expertise, dedication, and the results they have helped both me and my dog achieve! One of the aspects that truly sets Kim and Jason apart is their knowledge and active feedback. They consistently provide valuable guidance and support, ensuring that every training session is productive and tailored to our specific needs (even in a larger group class!) Their deep knowledge of dog behavior and psychology, grounded in scientific understanding, forms the foundation of their training methods, guaranteeing that every piece of advice they share is backed by research and best practices. Because of this knowledge and expertise, they have an incredible knack and ability to troubleshoot specific issues and have always been available to help us work on specific goals or trouble areas—going as far as to proactively point things out for us to work on, which I love! As a first-time dog owner, I am eternally grateful to have found Audax. Kim and Jason possess a deep understanding of working-dog breeds, and unlike the typical “5-star yelp rated city dog trainers" in Seattle who prioritize dog play over engagement with the owner, Kim and Jason focus on building core obedience skills through their training techniques to help strengthen then engagement between you and your dog, which all translates to great behaviors out in the real world! They also skillfully incorporate the right tools when necessary and teach you how to properly use them, ensuring a balanced approach that promotes positive outcomes while addressing trouble behaviors. There are a ton of class opportunities from comprehensive class series, drop-in classes, protection training, private lessons, and even off-site class series (my fav!) to cater to different training needs and goals. I strongly urge everyone to make the drive to Snohomish from the Seattle area to see the difference real dog trainers can make – it will be absolutely worth it!! It is also evident that Kim and Jason genuinely love and care for dogs and they are the only people I will trust to leave my dog with for boarding. In fact, my dog adores training so much that asking him if he wants to “go see Kim and Jason” sends him into a crazy happy frenzy because it’s one of his favorite places to go and favorite people to see! If you check out the pictures in this review, you can see how happy he looks during his private lessons and group class training! He works hard and then turns into a total goof because he is with people he loves and trusts! I wholeheartedly recommend Audax and all the phenomenal staff and trainers that work there. Kim and Jason’s knowledge, experience, and unwavering dedication make them the only trainers I trust with my dog. The growth and progress we have achieved under their guidance are a testament to their exceptional skills and genuine passion for their work. Thank you, Kim and Jason for everything you both do!!!
