Atta Pup! Training

I thought signing up for a puppy class meant there would be puppies in class. I guess gals advertising is ok with them. If you have a puppy class and only have one actual puppy sign up, instead of filling it with older dogs with behavioral issues, maybe you should be honest and cancel the class. No I dus not attend the first mandatory class because it was held in Halloween. My fault. She called me that day to tell me she was canceling the class because there would only be one person showing up. She could have gave me the option of canceling or waiting for an actual puppy class. But no, I paid 300$ for a dollar store puppy kit with a cheap clicker, cheap bag, cheap Fanny pack, a pack of gross peanut butter that smeared all over the bag, a giant plastic spoon, a can of tuna fish, and some random can of adult food. My dog is five pounds and in nine weeks old. She’s now sneezing and is on antibiotics and her poop tested positive for worms which may or may not be related. I’ll have to ask my vet at her next appointment. The puppy class was way too much for a nine week old puppy. She wasn’t t just doing basic commands in our first class. It was an hour fifteen minutes long. Say too long for a puppy kindergarten class. She said the dogs were on the older end of puppies. There were three other dogs there. They were not puppies. I’ve had large breed puppies. I know what they look like. I thought I made it clear that my main goal was to socialize her with other dogs around her age. Not dogs that were kept hidden behind barriers. What’s the point of driving 45 minutes to class when you were scammed. I want a refund for the five classes. I’ll pay for the first two. Only fair. I made a stupid decision to trust this person with my puppy. I had a bad feeling after I talked to her on the phone. I thought she was rude and condescending. This is the second bad review I’ve ever left a business. I made a complaint with bbb. If you have a puppy class and only get two or three puppies I can see maybe adding a couple of somewhat older dogs who are actually well socialized and friendly to the class, but letting the clients know beforehand. I would never go back there and I would not recommend this place to anyone who actually cares about their dogs. Editing to add: if you sign up for puppy kindergarten and there is only one puppy signed up, you get put in a class with older dogs. No choice at all. That is not what I signed up for. Combining class Ed should mean combing two puppy classes and not mixing a 9 week old puppy with much older dogs. That’s ridiculous. So no refund. The choice of a credit which is a joke.

My 6 yr old beagle and I just finished some private training classes for behavioral issues. Ms. Heather was wonderful. I love my boy and he can be a sweetheart, but he has several fear based issues that lead to aggressiveness towards me. I neglected the signs through the years that we needed some help. Heather has given us all the tools we need to deal with his behavior issues. Both my dog and I are still practicing and learning together but his aggressive behavior is already so much better. We still have lots of practice ahead but I now have the skills I need to make us all happier. You can teach an "old" dog new tricks!

When I reached out to Heather a few months ago, I was out of options and had no idea where else to turn for help with my doberman. Moose had never really been reactive but during the pandemic we went to the vet and a switch flipped when he saw the workers with masks. I couldn’t get him inside(barking, leash pulling) without first putting a muzzle on. He then became reactive to several other things, especially dogs. He also was not every good at loose leash walking. Moose and I did 4 weeks of training with Heather. We now go to the vet and he goes in willingly and we can go outside and he will stand right beside me because he wants to. Without Heather’s help, we would not have made it here. Today, Moose was able to go outside with me and he stood perfectly beside me WITH slack in the leash and not even a single bark as neighbors were out with their dogs, and others out enjoying the weather. I’m so thankful for Heather and would do it all over a million times if I had to!

If you are looking to invest in a training that truly works, I wholeheartedly recommend Attack Pup! My husband and myself were lost with our dog Rosco who was very aggressive and fearful of other animals, we weren't sure anything would help him - but we decided to take this chance with this training with fingers crossed. Boy, she was amazing! I feel like I understand my dog my dog way better, and I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel for our Rosco (and maybe, in time, a fur-sibling). Not only is she well versed in her training, but so patient, personable, and wonderful all around.
