This school was a very bad fit for me for several reasons and I dropped the 6 week course I paid for after 2 classes. I'm sharing my reasons, not to punish the business, but so that others who share my particular sensitivities/concerns can be informed and choose wisely. Despite the drawbacks I will enumerate, I do think the school may indeed be suited for those actually wanting to learn the various dog sports and compete in them. My issues largely revolved around my concern for other dogs' bad behavior rubbing off on my extremely mild tempered puppy. I'll say that my lifestyle (being able to incorporate my dog into daily life and my work activities) absolutely stringently necessitates that my dog remain a non-barker. I have been essentially flawless with enforcing the no barking education. Not only did the instructor bring a dog of hers who was barky for demonstrations (her other dogs were outside crated and barking in her van in the heat during the hour and a half long class, which also made me uncomfortable although I believe they did have water access), but she was entirely unbothered that another student's dog was not only a big time barker, but essentially completely out of his owner's control (couldn't execute a prolonged sit-stay which is the basis of any of the agility exercises we were there to learn). This meant that the owner was kenneling him for a variety of periods of time during the classes, and he was stressed and barking throughout. My dog who, again, has been inculcated to an entirely placid way of life which I have a commitment to him and my workplace to continue to foster, was understandably confused and agitated about the other dog's seeming emergency. I also have a lot of personal difficulty with highway traffic and sun in my eyes, so arriving to that stressful situation after a glaring, aggressive highway trip from the city, only for the instructor to be late and leave us waiting 20min outside the building, and then finding that the building was not air conditioned when we were finally brought in... all very not good for MY purposes for attending, which were to further the communication and bond with some structured training. Nothing about this experience lent itself to MY personal goals and intentions with trying the training, so while I am glad I tried something new, I believe I can get a lot further to my goal of a better more communicative leadership relationship with my dog by continuing to learn new things online and practice them in the sanctity of our home. I wish you nothing but the best, but I really hope you're able to solve some of these glaring and uncomfortable issues which would make your school a nonstarter for many companion pet owners just seeking to improve communication and have a fun sporty experience with their dogs.
