Atlanta Dog Trainer

We’ve had a great experience with Atlanta Dog Trainer in Alpharetta across the board. Daycare: We send our dog weekly for daycare during long workdays, and he absolutely loves it. Yes, he sometimes comes home a little muddy, but that just means he had a full day of playing. The playgroups are well managed, there’s plenty of space, and the team clearly pays attention to the dogs. At one point, they even took him to the vet after a small incident and didn’t charge us, which says a lot about how they care for the animals. Boarding: This is our go-to boarding spot. Everything is included, including daycare and administering medicine, so there are no surprise add-on fees. We also really appreciate that someone is on site to let the dogs out for a late evening potty break. The only tip is to schedule a bath for pickup day since it’s a farm setting and they will get dirty from all the fun. Grooming: We recently tried grooming for the first time and had a great experience. It’s so convenient to add it onto a daycare or boarding stay instead of making a separate trip elsewhere. Pricing was very reasonable for our small doodle mix. Board & Train: We did the 2-week board and train before our first baby arrived, and it was a great foundation. Even though we haven’t been perfect about keeping up with everything, it helped make sure our dog listens to both me and my husband. Overall: Scheduling is easy online, and every single staff member we’ve interacted with has been kind and welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you walk in and they greet your dog by name, and he’s genuinely excited to be there. That alone says everything.

I used them for the two week boarding and training program for my 7 month old German shorthair pointer Maggie. Maggie returned as a much more behaved dog! Loves her crate now, recall is much improved. Getting up on her raised bed "place" was fun to show off at the vet to get her on the scale. I took her back this past weekend for just boarding while I have a work trip. When we arrived and I got her out of the truck she went nuts. Running up to all the trainers and handlers and dogs that she met before, wouldn't stop wagging her tail with excitement. She loves this place and they all love her!

We cannot say enough good things about Rachel and Atlanta Dog Trainer's Board and Train program. Wally, our rescue pitbull, came with major challenges—no boundaries, poor social skills, and worsening behavior. Horrified to admit it, we were on the verge of rehoming him, but from the start, Rachel, Shelby, and Emma were willing to take a chance on him. We were drawn to ADT's humane, relationship-based techniques, which focus on communication, structure, and trust—without e-collars or harsh methods. During his in-person temperament test, it was clear Wally didn’t know how to be a dog or interact with other dogs, which affected how he communicated with humans. Rachel met him exactly where he was and taught us how to better communicate with him, solving a lot of the issues at home. Throughout his stay, Rachel provided consistent updates, showing the care, patience, and thought that went into his training. Since coming home, Wally is slightly calmer (he’s still a ball of energy!), more responsive, and genuinely better behaved. Rachel didn’t just change his behavior—she changed our future with him. We are beyond grateful and will recommend them forever! Wally will continue weekly daycare to improve his social skills, and we intend to use Atlanta Dog Trainer for boarding whenever we travel.
