I signed up for an unlimited pass with Athens for my puppy. He had already completed puppy classes with another group, which went well. We went to the first few classes, which were fine. Unfortunately, as he went through puppy puberty he became increasingly reactive and was unable to stay calm and participate during the group classes. I contacted Athens phone and email to discuss options given my dog's reactivity, since we had only been to a few classes and had an unlimited pass. The staff member I spoke with recommended transitioning his training to 1-1 given his reactivity and asked me to text them so they could help coordinate further training. They never followed up and did not respond to my follow-up email requesting a refund or to actually schedule the 1-1 sessions. At the end of the day, we were only able to go to about 5 classes after paying $600 to do so. The classes were fine but less organized than others I have been to and their lack of responsiveness was incredibly disappointing.

Athens is a great place for your dog to learn manners and a good place for them to stay while you’re away.

My husband and I are SO incredibly grateful to have found Danny/Athens Dog Training. Our dog struggles with leash reactivity, and we have tried, over the years, a few different training methods and collars/leashes without success. We started trying to avoid all triggers, and my walks with my dog became stressors instead of bonding time. Four sessions later with Danny, and we are enjoying our walks again! He set us up with great skills, and we have seen a serious 180 turn with our dog. Honestly, the progress is unbelievable. We feel like we know what to do in different scenarios, and have found hope that consistently implementing his training methods will continue to improve her behavior. Thank you so much to Danny/Athens! Our only wish is that we had found you years ago!

Stefanie with Athens is absolutely amazing! We did a board and train for a few weeks for our puppy and had the BEST possible experience. She cared for him like he was her own and kept in really regular contact with us with updates. She was great about sending us videos and pictures to set our minds at ease that he was progressing and having a good time. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I’d give them all the stars if I could.

Our dog (2yr) was having issues with reactivity. We noticed he would react around strangers and bigger dogs but couldn't figure out how to help him (YouTube videos could only get us so far). So we made the decision to get help from the professionals. We're so glad we found Athens and set up a consultation with Danny. From the start, Danny was super patient with our anxiety filled dog and super helpful with explaining how the under lying issue was fear and what we could do to help our dog manage out of his fear and set realistic goals. With Danny's guidance and being consistent about doing our homework by practicing what we learned in our sessions with our dog, by the end of our 5 sessions with Danny, our dog went from needing multiple meetings to not react with a new person down to 15 minutes. We're so happy with the results and can't wait to see how much more our dog will continue to grow and improve as we continue to practice the tools that Danny taught us. We're so thankful to Danny for being such a great teacher and highly recommend anyone else having trouble with a fearful and reactive pup to give Athens a try.
