At Attention Dog Training

We’ve had a great experience working with Vania as we prepared for the arrival of our baby. With a two-year-old dog and a ten-year-old at home, it was important for us to feel confident managing both dogs during this exciting transition. Vania did an excellent job tailoring her approach to each dog’s needs and age, helping us build consistency, calm behavior, and clear communication. She also shared practical, real-life strategies to help us prepare our dogs for our upcoming child, which has given us so much peace of mind. Highly recommend!

We reached out to At Attention Dog Training to help us with our Cocker Spaniel, Snuggles. Poor Snuggles was afraid of everything and most people other than my husband. In her fear she would, bark, snarl, and lash out at anyone coming into our house. Vania at AADT was our last hope. We had tried so many things to help Snugs and nothing worked. Vania met Snuggles and gave us the hope to see that there was a way forward that kept Snuggles in our life. In 5 sessions and our homework, Snugs went from a nervous dog to one with confidence. She’s done a complete 180. We learned how to read her needs, climb a ramp to access our bed, and wear a muzzle. Snugs is like a new dog and we love having her in our home. She’s so happy now and enjoys spending time with all of us, and our other dogs. Vania is an amazing dog trainer and we highly recommend her and AADT.

We recently completed five training sessions with Alicia and the difference in our dog Beau — and in us — has been incredible. Before working with her, we had tried a franchised training company that relied heavily on a shock collar, which only made our active puppy more reactive and anxious. We left those sessions feeling uncomfortable, discouraged and unsure of how to help him. Working with Alicia was the complete opposite experience. She took the time to truly understand Beau, his personality, his triggers, and what he was trying to communicate. She taught us how to positively reinforce the behaviors we wanted, how to set him up for success, and how to build a relationship based on trust instead of correction. Because of her guidance, we can now enjoy calm walks and even trail runs together. His recall is amazing — no more standing at the door calling him repeatedly. He’s mentally stimulated, far less reactive, no longer pesters our older dog, and when guests come over, he isn’t bowling them over with excitement anymore. Alicia’s knowledge of dog behavior — and her ability to teach humans just as effectively — is truly impressive. She gave us tools we can use for the rest of Beau’s life, and we’re so grateful for the confidence and calm she’s helped bring into our home. We can’t recommend her highly enough.
