Asheville Dog Company

1st time boarder with Asheville Dog here. My dog can be a handful (distrusting redbone/rottweiler who gets cage aggressive), and I was apprehensive about trying a new boarder over the holidays. I've not tried a new place since our old kennel we used had closed down a year or so ago. And so we've been taking our dog with us on trips...which adds quite a bit of stress. Todd was very responsive to all my concerned texts. And made sure my dog was taken care of, even when the temps got down into the teens while we were away! My dog was there for most of the week, and to my shock when I picked my dog up, Todd met us out front with him on a leash?! Holy cow. To be able to build a rapport with this dog enough to LET someone leash him AND lead him from a cage was a feat. Will definitely be using this service again, and I hope ADC will be able to expand their services accordingly as I feel they are greatly needed and appreciated in the North Asheville area!

Todd is a very skilled trainer of both dogs and their owners. We took our eight month old male GSD, Buck, to be trained by Todd. Todd was highly recommended by our veterinarian. Buck is extremely protective so he could be challenging, but Todd used his skill and techniques to modify his behavior in social settings. Todd also gave us several recommendations for specific training aids (collars, training snacks and toys) which proved to be successful. My husband is a retired educator of 35 years and recognizes a great instructor when he sees one. We gained as much from Todd's training as Buck did. We would highly recommend Todd for your dogs training needs.

Todd has been working with me and my labradoodle pup for several months now, and I am beyond pleased with the results. Todd is generous with his time and has answered all of my questions fully, even going into a bit of the theory behind why we're doing the training exercises that we're doing. He clearly understands how a dog's mind works and how to work with their thought patterns/behavioral tendencies. I also believe he has a real passion for what he does and that it shows through in our training sessions. If you'd like a well-trained animal, then to be sure, most of the work needs to come from YOU, the dog's owner, but as far as dog trainers go, look no further than Todd. Awesome team of trainers! Anna shows care and respect for each individual dog, their owner and their needs. This care goes beyond basic obedience expectations and proves that Anna and the team at ADA are true animal lovers. Communication and learning goes beyond the hour long weekly classes and the commitment to the progress of the client's relationship with their dog is very evident. After my first class I knew i chose the right trainer to work with. The progress my dog and I have made together after completing the ultimate obedience course is incredible. I am beyond grateful for my time working with Anna and the folks at Asheville dog academy!
