Art of the Dog Canine Academy

We picked up our 4-year-old dog about 2 weeks ago from her 3 week behavior modification program with Art of the Dog. Before bringing her she was demonstrating worsening resource guarding and aggression towards our other dog. We were faced with a tough decision to either rehome her, or invest in high quality training- we were fortunate to be able to choose the latter. Since coming home, she has been much more responsive to our commands, has not shown any signs of aggression towards our other dog, and is a much calmer, more confident version of herself. We know that continued success will require ongoing practice and training, but we are so grateful to have the lifetime support from the trainers- they respond quickly and check in often to make sure things are going well. The program laid a solid foundation for us to build on with our dog, and gave us the confidence that we can safely keep her in our home where she belongs! We are especially thankful for Juan, our primary trainer, who did such an excellent job with our girl!

I truly don’t have enough good things to say about Art of the Dog. I sent my seven-year-old dog, Slim Shady, to them with very little hope. He was stubborn, defiant, and aggressive toward other dogs, making it feel impossible to integrate him into a home with a new pet. Victoria, Slim’s primary trainer, was absolutely fabulous! I received daily pictures, videos, and updates that kept my mind at ease. What impressed me most was their attention to detail—any unique concern, from a slight change in weight to a small scratch on his face, was brought to my attention immediately. He wasn’t just trained; he was loved on and encouraged. While we still have work to do, he is a brand-new dog. I feel so supported knowing I can contact them anytime as we continue this journey.
