Ann Becnel Companion Dogs

My dog honestly looks forward to class every week with Ms. Ann and Ms. Lisa! While play group is his favorite time, I enjoy the actual lesson time where I have learned how to effectively handle my 50 lbs of pure energy, known as Dexter. We still have lots of work to do, but seeing his progress every week and how well our practice sessions at home continue to go, I am confident that signing up for these lessons was the best thing we did after adopting our dog!

We signed up our 5 month old rescue pup for training with Ann. Ann is great with taking each dog case by case. She helped us as owners learn how to handle and correct our dog in a way she would understand. Ann uses positive training which was really important to me. Every class we took our dog to she learned so much and improved so fast! Ann was a saving grace to us and our pup! Now she was a AKC good citizen certified dog. Our dog loved classes so much and was always really tired after classes. Ann is a top notch quality trainer. We searched for months to find the right program for our dog and I am so glad we decided to go with Ann Becnel! Our dog is a great family dog because of the wonderful training she had with Ann. I recently started training with Ann Becnel with my little terrier mix that I adopted from the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter. Molly is good at home, but did not do well mixing with other dogs or people outside my home. At the first class following techniques Ann taught us, Molly was able to meet and greet both small and large dogs, walk with a new adult, and take sit and take treat politely from a person in a wheelchair. Ann not only uses positive methods, but goes beyond just basic obedience, and works on socialization which will allow me to take her out in the community. I can't say enough positive things about this trainer. I'm glad Molly and I found her class.

We just came from our 4th lesson with Ann Becnel. We started Ann's class because our dog, Colbie, was highly reactive and verbally aggressive in new situations. Ann has been both flexible and firm in her approaches with Colbie and us. We have found her teaching and assistance to be invaluable. The lessons are structured in a way that helps dogs succeed. I recently relocated to the New Orleans area from the northeast. I worked with many quality trainers throughout the years and was very pleased to find Ann Becnel's companion dog training school. It was just what I was looking for! Ann uses positive training and is very knowledgable with current training methods. Classes are held in city park in a secure area and the dogs have the opportunity to play, as well as learn. My dogs love dog school and I think Ann's clients also have fun. It's a great way to build a wonderful relationship with your best friend!! I feel lucky to have found Ann and look forward to lots of fun and a well trained dog in the months to come!!
