Animal Inn Training School

Our dog Chucker we t training there July 23, 2020. Chucker is a 9 month old GS. Chucker's father was somewhat aggressive and the breeder told to get our dog around people so he would not be like that. Unfortunately, Covid-19 happened and we knew in order for our dog to successful we needed him to be trained. Well, the first few days were rough as Chucker was not grasping the training and would just coward in his kennel. We kept in contact with both Katie and Corwin on Chucker's issues and what was best for him. Finally during week 2, they were slowly making progress with commands as well as walking with Chucker on a leash. We all decided it would be best for Chucker to be there one more week as he was a slow learner Wow, we received videos of Chucker finally playing with other dogs, listening to commands and walking on a leash. We were very happy with how Chucker was trained as Corwin got into why Chucker was that way and worked tirelessly with Chucker by building trust with him and that is when Chucker started to learn. We have been very happy and forever grateful for the time, efforts they put into our dog and will be forever grateful. About a month or so after picking up Chucker from training we decide to go to the lake and check Chucker back at Animal Inn for the weekend. Chucker was good, k ew what he had to do and was very receptive of having Katie and Corwin s team play with Chucker and give him cuddles. We would very highly recommend Animal Inn to anyone who needs training or kenneling of there pet. I would not trust anyone other than Animal Inn in taking care of our baby Chucker. It was well worth the money for evo. Thank you Katie, Corwo and your team...we look forward to seeing you in the future. Love Chucker and his parents ♥️

I recently took my rescue dog through their obedience class and I was super disappointed. If you want to show your dog I'm sure this class is fine. If you want a well adjusted dog who you just want some basic obedience for, look elsewhere. It took my rescue pup quite some time to even be able to take treats from me. I took this class to learn & bond. The trainer was harsh, rude and condescending. Because we weren't the perfect pair, she outright ignored us. Because we're not planning on showing, she gave us no 1:1 when she did with EVERY other pair. Also something to note, they are very invested in negative training methods. They will use spray bottles to the face, horribly taught use of prong collars and noise aversion. This is not the up-to-date way of training. I was so excited to be able to train with Jasper but we ended up quitting because it wasn't worth continuing in this atmosphere

Puppy class was overall a positive experience, but people should be aware they teach a combination of positive and negative reinforcement techniques. Essentially always taught negative reinforcement for unwanted behaviors (spray water in the face for barking, shake loud can for jumping, hit nose for taking treat with teeth, jerk leash if distracted, etc) while using positive reinforcement for teaching new skills. I appreciated the positive reinforcement and learning around other puppies.
