I cannot say enough good things about Teri and Angels in the Making. I have a Boykin Spaniel who is pretty sure he should make his own decisions. Throughout many one on one sessions, Teri taught me how to read JJ’s signals and understand the best way to respond so that I could help him make the choice that I wanted. Though I would often make mistakes, Teri never once made me feel like I was doing something wrong. This skill of teaching owners is unique and very important. It encouraged me to keep trying rather than giving up, which can easily happen, as we all know. Teri and her staff are the best!!!

Teri changed our lives and kept our dog in our family. Her expertise shown in the ways she critically thought about how our common dog behavioral issues were being compounded by our unique lifestyle of travel the country in our RV. She was able to find ways for us to tackle our dog’s anxiety in the confines of 84 sq. ft. without doors, both of us working from home full-time, and our dog having to be on-leash whenever we are outside. Two months of weekly sessions and we can see our dog finally looking to us for direction instead of immediately reacting. He is able to tolerate people and dogs walking by outside of the screen door without trying to break through it and barking non-stop for minutes. He is even staying in heel while we walk instead of always trying to run. He is not able to do these things every time but he is able to do them most of the time now. We still have a way to go but the important thing is we are all learning how to coexist and we didn’t have to rehome our dog to a more active family like we thought we would. Our dog is off his anti-anxiety medication and even more happy and relaxed than when he was on it. Teri Thomas has done more to make our home happy than any family therapist could accomplish. We adopted a 2-year-old border collie mix from Roice-Hurst Humane Society. He's smart and loves to learn new commands. But what we couldn't make any headway toward in his first six months with us was controlling his reactivity. Dogs, runners, bikes, diesel trucks, school buses, loud noises all set him barking and lunging and losing his mind. We hired Teri for 12 weeks of reactive dog training. She came to our home and did one-on-one training with Chester. Actually, what she did was teach us to teach him to control his emotions and actions. Every week she gave us new techniques that built on the previous lessons, and we worked with him daily. Teri demonstrated and explained everything clearly, not only how to do various trainings, but why. She gave us notes after every session that we could look back on to refresh our memory. We made steady progress as the weeks went by. I won't say that his reactivity is completely gone, but he's so much better now. And we're still making progress after Teri's training was complete because we have a new understanding and tools to use with him. He's a calmer, happier dog who can disregard many of the things that triggered him before and is now able to listen to us when he’s agitated, which has made for a happier home life for us all. We had the opportunity to work with Teri in her Reactive Dog program. The results are well beyond my expectations! Even though the training was primarily for one of our fur babies, both have certainly benefitted from the strategies that Teri provided us. We are much more confident and happy out in public now following her instruction. Teri was accommodating to work with our schedule, meet us at the places that were the most meaningful for us, and provide email summaries after our sessions to ensure good carryover of the education.
