I highly recommend American K9. Our 5 month old puppy was struggling with not only “puppy behaviors” but also resource guarding. We had an incident where she nipped my husband. We had been doing private lessons with Danny who is wonderful, but decided to move forward with a two week board and train after the incident with my husband. I was hesitant to leave our new puppy for two weeks with no contact, but felt very comfortable when she did intake with our new trainer Nellie. Nellie was extremely calm and explained how the following two weeks would work. I received daily updates with pictures and videos explaining the skill for the day. I was able to ask questions and get in touch if needed. They were even able to allow our mobile groomer to come. At the end of session we did an hour debrief. Nellie worked with each member of the family so that we all were able to successfully continue aftercare. Nellie was even available to answer questions after we came home. She took the time to call me before our two week follow up. Our puppy is now relaxed, follows all her commands and is so sweet. We have the tools to manage her if she ever decided to guard and know how to keep both human and dog safe. Our breeder kept up to date on the progress and she also stated how impressed she is with Nellie and the entire American K9 facility.

We had an incredible experience working with Natalie for our dog’s 6-week board and train. The results speak for themselves—his obedience is truly on point. Beyond that, Natalie’s communication was outstanding. She kept us consistently updated, offered thoughtful troubleshooting, and made the entire process feel collaborative and supportive. One of the biggest impacts for me personally was the confidence I gained. Natalie has such a calm, neutral demeanor that made learning from her feel approachable and empowering. She didn’t just train our dog—she taught me how to handle him effectively, and that has made all the difference. What meant even more to our family was how wonderful she was with my daughter, who is rarely comfortable around others. Natalie handled that with such care and sensitivity. During the difficult transition of having our dog away Natalie went above and beyond to support us. That level of understanding and compassion is rare. She also provided excellent recommendations for training equipment and clearly genuinely cares about her clients’ long-term success. We felt supported every step of the way, and the results we’ve seen have been amazing. I truly can’t recommend Natalie and this entire organization highly enough!
