I am seeking help locating a Service Dog training program close to Upper Michigan or any Iraq Veteran support groups. Upper michigan meaning, U.P. I Can not fly anymore and larger groups, I don't do well. 😕

What happens to the dogs that are found to be unsuitable to be Vet dogs? I’m very interested in adopting a dog that for some reason is not appropriate for training but still needs a loving home. Is there anyone I could contact about this?
You can contact them and be put on an adoption waiting list. Maybe consider helping out volunteering

I am sure that there are plenty of veterans who have been helped by this organization, but I felt in necessary to comment on my own experiences with this organization while attempting to obtain a service animal for my veteran husband. What I want any veterans out there to know prior to contacting America's VetDogs is that regardless of wether or not a veteran is rated at 100% service-connected through the VA, if you received a "general under honorable conditions" discharge, you will be denied based on the nature of your discharge! I think it is pretty sad that my husband who is in need of a service animal due to a severe lower-extremity disability is denied because he had an under honorable discharge rather than the traditional honorable at the end of his service. My husband is eligible for all military benefits with his discharge, but not a service animal apparently. This organization is absolutely entitled to deny any applicant for any reason, but I think it is absolute BS that he was denied for this particular reason. Again, if you have a general under honorable discharge, do not waste your time.
