Always Training K9s

In August 2025, we welcomed Kyle into our family. He was approximately 10 months old and had experienced a hard start to life, having been found on the street, then being in a shelter, and undergoing two surgeries before we learned about him and welcomed him into our family. Kyle was, on most days, sweet to my husband, our other dog, and me, yet quickly became over stimulated and was reactive and aggressive toward other people, animals, bikes, cars, etc. As we live in a condo downtown, it was difficult and stressful (for all) to go in elevators and walk outside with him. Kyle also had many stressors related to noise, his crate, and food. Some friends recommended Nikki to us, and during my initial call with her, I was impressed with the depth and types of questions she asked. I began watching Nikki’s posts on Instagram and could tell that she was very knowledgeable, and I respected and learned from how she worked with the other dogs. We decided to take Kyle to Nikki’s home for a two week Board and Train session. My hopes were high, yet I could not fathom that Kyle’s aggressiveness and other behaviors could change. Within 24 hours of being with Nikki, Kyle’s behaviors began to change! Nikki quickly determined – to our surprise – that Kyle was an insecure, back of the pack dog. The way Nikki worked with Kyle, gained his trust, interacted with him, taught him, communicated with him, and loved him profoundly changed him in the best of ways. Kyle gained confidence, began to thrive, understood and followed Nikki’s rules, played with the other dogs, went on walks, and ventured out in public places as a happy, confident dog. Nikki also worked with my husband and me, teaching us how to advocate for Kyle and how to set boundaries. Our home is once again peaceful, with the joyful sounds of Kyle snoring by our side, playing in a gentle manner, and taking daily walks together in the city. We are forever grateful for and appreciative of Nikki and highly recommend her.

Cannot recommend Nikki enough!! I did the 2 weeks board in training for my very hyper dog. He had trouble with leash pulling, lunging at cars, and just overall manners. Nikki always posted videos of Ralphie’s training so I could stay up to date, and this brought a lot of comfort. After the 2 weeks, all my dogs bad habits are fixed! I cannot believe the changes in him. It does take a lot of work on the owners end to keep the training in tact but it is 10000% worth it!!

Nikki at Always Training K9s is absolutely incredible. If I could give her 100 stars, I would. Our French Bulldog, Thunder, completed both puppy boot camp and the two week board and train, and the transformation has been unbelievable. He went from high energy and stubborn to having manners, strong recall, and actually listening. We can walk him on leash without being dragged and even take him out off leash with confidence. He understands place, behaves when we have company over, and even stopped chewing on the cat’s toys, which was a huge win for his safety. Walks are now enjoyable, and we can take him out in public without him jumping all over everyone. Nikki is patient, firm, and knows exactly how to get results. She does not just train your dog, she trains you too, which makes all the difference. It is actually hilarious that when Thunder hears her voice on social media, he starts responding to her commands. Because of Nikki, we feel like we have a balanced home and truly get to enjoy our dog instead of being controlled by him. If you are even thinking about dog training, go to Nikki. You will not regret it.

Nikki was incredible with our two dogs, Whiskey (4) and Fig (7 months), during their two-week board and train. She’s clearly passionate, takes time to understand the root of behaviors, and keeps you involved with regular training videos. We saw such a positive change in both dogs, and she also gave us the tools to continue the training at home. We would trust her with our pups anytime and highly recommend her!

Nikki is absolutely wonderful. She boarded and trained our Aussie doodle Asher and we are blown away by the results. He has a lot of energy and he was still learning how to live in his new environment with us at just 6months old. He was very anxious, excited and eager and that always showed up as distributive and terrorizing energy because we did know how to handle and redirect him. Nikki made him a perfect little gentleman, and then she worked on teaching us all the tools to maintain the training she instilled in him. He is so much happier and content. She corrected behaviors like jumping on the counters, terrorizing our older dog, a 3 year old 9 lb Maltipoo, biting at our hands and jumping at our 10 year old daughter while she was practicing volleyball. All that has been corrected! We know how to make him content with what Nikki has taught us without Asher always needing to be in everything and in our business at all times. We learned to create a calm environment and that has made such a meaningful difference. Our home is more peaceful and we are all happier. We highly recommend her. She is also very very responsive during and after Asher was in her care. She even posts all the time so you can keep up with your dogs progress, and you can keep looking at all the dogs she keeps training and learn even more to implement with your dog too! She is just wonderful!
