I certainly didnt think I'd be writing a review like this. My initial contact was Maddie, who didnt do the puppy classes, but I was very excited to be in an organization that employed her. Sadly, when the day came for our first puppy class, it was most disappointing. It was a class of 14 dogs, plus parents, plus three trainers. My 5 month old Siberian was pretty overstimulated. The 'assistant's that Roger (who runs the place) sent out on the floor paced around but never offered any proactive feedback when it was clear my little boy was distracted and not wanting to work and overstimulated. When i attempted to ask Roger about this all he could say was that we were close to the end and it was understandable. He had no feedback in terms of how to work with my dog on that issue, which was supposed to be the point of the class? Their format of showing something once and then just telling the group to replicated it with no proactive feedback, you might as well look up 'dog training' on YouTube and watch some of the great videos there rather than pay these guys 200 bucks to take your dog swimming. Roger also tried to recommend a pinch collar for my 5 month old dog, which I'm told is not done for dogs under 6 months. All told, they were nice people but I'm not sure about the competence of training (minus Maddie, who I didnt get to work with).

We just concluded a three week stay and train program with Alpha. We want to give a special shoutout to our trainer, Alex. We took in a rescue Aussie with little obedience and the work she was able to do with him was incredible. It is evident that Alex has great expertise in dog training, especially with Australian Shepherds. The communication, value, and flexibility make this a front runner for best dog training spots in Indy. We will definitely be bringing our business back here with our next dog. We are so grateful to have worked with such a kind, positive, and knowledgeable trainer. Thank you Alex!

Apha K9 was great! We did the 21 day board and train for our 2 dogs, (Boogie a. 10 month old Pittie mix and Bear, a 3 year old Australian Cattle mix) and they did not disappoint. My boys knew the sit and down but stay, play time and toy hoarding were an issue. Alpha worked with the boys and I can confidently say I see the difference in them and they listen better. Maddie our trainer was amazing to work with and she kept us posted on the training and sat with us when we picked them up to go over what she worked on. Maddie also worked with us on some things with the boys to show us mannerisms, cues when annoyed or confused. I highly recommend Alpha K9 for any of your training needs.They even have day programs.
