For the board and train do the trainers keep the dog in their own house? How many hours per day do they work with the dog?
Currently, our Board & Trains are housed with our trainers in their individual homes. As for how much time per day is spent actively working with them, that is strictly dependent on the dogs themselves. We work dogs one-on-one, as well as take them out on field trips when they are ready to take their training into more public environments, so it can vary from day to day. We do our best to give each dog the individual time they need in order to help them make progress every day, without ever overextending.

I have a 4mo old GSDmix that bites,jumps , and barks alot. Do y'all have a training class for puppies, if so how long and what is the cost?
Hi Nancy, Yes! We do currently offer a Puppy Program for puppies starting as early as 10 weeks! I owe our fabulous relationship with our dog, Blue, to Alpha Instincts training program. We started the program with a hard headed, rambunctious, dominant, dog reactive, food guarding dog. I was at my wits end and ready to re-home him when I was referred to Alpha Instincts by a friend. And we were placed with Rachel by the grace of God at the perfect time. She came in and immediately saw what we were dealing with and recognized that Blue was a hunting, working dog (which we didn’t realize was genetic, not taught) she knew exactly was tools to give us to use for him. TRUST THE PROCESS. It was a long road, but she was there for us at every turn, giving advice, coming out to us when I had concerns, pouring her heart and soul into teaching us how to properly handle him. We now have an AMAZING family dog whom we couldn’t ever imagine being in any other home except ours. Even neighbors who barely know us have commented on how much a change they see in him! I can’t say enough about Alpha Instincts and how it saved our relationship with our dog.

We recently wrapped up our 10-day reverse board and train with Alpha Instincts Dog Training. It was a spectacular experience. My pup and I worked with a training group previously but over time (and extended work from home), her adherence to commands became lax. This type of training leveraged our existing relationship and allowed us to not only reset but learn and be setup for continued growth. Alpha Instincts took the time to listen to my needs (changing cities, changing living situation, increased dog reactivity) and constructed a training plan that started with reinforcing the basics and ended with us training in real world situations we expect to encounter over the next few months. Having previously worked primarily with an e-collar, I learned just how motivated my pup was by a high value treat. It was clear my pup was working her brain and she welcomed some decompression time at the end of each session. The team was caring and advocated for all dogs in their care. I would feel completely comfortable sending a new/untrained dog to their traditional board and train and highly recommend those looking for a kickstart back into training to investigate their reverse board and train.
Vanessa was a great trainer! She did our initial eval and was our trainer for our retriever/shepherd mix for our 4 week training. Our dog loves her and the trainings really have helped. We went with Alpha because of their responsiveness on our initial inquiry, they have great customer service, and ease of use to use the calendar, setup times. Great to work with!
