Alpha Instincts Dog Training

We have two dogs and have been working with Nick now for over a month. Our one dog has severe confidence issues and fear related anxiety. Our other dog has anxiety as well and human aggression. In working with Nick, both our dogs have become more confident and less anxious. We’ve gone from thinking we may have to get rid of them to feeling confident that both dogs are trainable. Nick takes the time to layout not only the reasoning behind certain training techniques and decisions, but also the correct way to implement them so that we get the most out of each trading session with our dogs. Us and our dogs still have a way to go, but we look forward to continue working with Nick and Alpha Instincts team to become the best dog owners we can be while getting the most out of our furry friends. If Nick told me that hopping on one food and singing a song would help me in training my dogs I would do it with full confidence that the results would be well worth it.

We just finished a 3 week board and train with Vanessa and couldn’t be more pleased, we have a now 8 month German shepherd that was totally out of control, I started training the puppy in basic commands at about 6 weeks old.she quickly learned to sit ,down and heel, but about 5 months she Decided not only that she wasn’t going to listen anymore but started trying to dominate me. And the more I tried to correct that behavior it Would escalate into her growling and me yelling . When we would go on walks she pulled on the leash so much the entire left side of my body would ache. When Vanessa picked her up from our home she almost drug her down our front steps! Last week we welcomed a well behaved dog back home. She heels beautifully and stays in place during meals and while we relax after dinner. We can enjoy our pup now and not dread being around her I loved watching the video’s that Vanessa would post daily of the training process. On week 2 I watched my dog walk through Home Depot with no leash and stay right beside her trainer, on week 3 I watched as she laid down in PetSmart while to trainers played ball over her head, she never moved from place😳 After about 4 days after she got back home some of the old habits started to resurface ( nowhere as bad as before) but theses folks come to your home and do a week follow up, the behavior was corrected and I was given instructions on how to handle theses situations. Turns out dogs are just like kids they know how to push your buttons and if given an inch they take a mile, I can not recommend this program enough I only wish we could have gotten in sooner we have a great dog now that loves to play and I still as crazy as ever but Now has manners and obeys when we give a command Thank you Vanessa and alpha Instincts

Rachel had her work cut out for her with my Captain but she was able to do so much more than I ever though. Captain is very high energy and super food motivated. He went from anxious in the car to calm and collected. He doesn’t freak out and jump all over people when they come to the house, and he LOVES to go out and socialize now. Rachel developed a relationship with Captain and knew exactly what he needed even when I didn’t. We are so thankful and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Vanessa and Alpha Instincts are such professionals! Riggsby was a rescue with the intent of us finding him a new home. That was 3 years ago and we finally admitted he’s here to stay! We had let him get away with everything and he totally ruled our house. I didn’t think I would ever be willing to invest so much money, but we knew we needed intense help to gain some control. Vanessa stepped up to the task beautifully. She listened to our needs and concerns and tailored Riggsby’s training to best fit our lives. While he was away from us for 3 weeks, she kept us informed with pictures, videos and texts. We were amazed at his progress even week one! Vanessa was always prompt getting back to us if we ever had a question or request. She even started working toward getting Riggsby to let us trim his nails. That’s going above and beyond! Riggsby is home and we are all happy to be back together. We are working everyday to reinforce and further what WE learned with Vanessa. She has already been back to the house and we are planning another visit soon. When they say they are here to help, they back it up! We would certainly make the decision to invest again.
