Alpha Instincts Dog Training

We had a wonderful experience with Alpha Instincts! Our dog is dog reactive and we sent him for 3 weeks of training. Our trainer sent us so many pictures and videos showing all the things they were teaching him and communicated through the whole process. When he got home he was still the same goofy loveable dog but now followed instructions and had tools to help when he is around other dogs and nervous. Walks are a dream now with him. I would definitely recommend them!

Two weeks ago our 4 year old, very active GSD was brought home by his trainer Vanessa. He had just completed a three week board & train. I cannot say enough good things about the experience from the initial consult to our much improved daily experience with him. The communication with Vanessa was there throughout. She posted photos and videos beginning the first day she had him. I had previously taken him through two different training programs at a couple of highly rated Huntsville training facilities, and while he had some basics down, we felt he would be much better off with more in depth training. Vanessa was able to do wonders with his recall, and helping him exist calmly in “place” inside our home. He is able to heel almost effortlessly in crowded public places and can calmly sit in “place” in public as well. He had some issues with barking excessively while in the fenced in area at home. With the tools and training Vanessa equipped us with, we have been able to see a dramatic improvement in that behavior as well. We are going extremely pleased with his training and highly recommend Alpha Instinct, and Vanessa in particular. She confidently and lovingly took care of our active and previously very anxious boy. I’m pretty cheap, but in our case I believe the investment was well worth it. The company offered a military discount and allowed me to spread out the total over a few monthly payments, both making it easier to swallow. If you think your dog would benefit from the help of a professional, check them out. I’m really happy I did.

We adopted Frank just prior to the lock down. During our hibernation phase, he became very anxious around strangers and got more and more aggressive at odd time (or at least to us odd times). I had trouble finding a trainer that would work with us. Rachel was not only willing but excited to work with us. She helped us to understand Frank’s outbursts were not odd but connected. Helped us to see what Frank needs to be mentally healthy. He will always be anxious, but Rachel helped us see how we can help him control the anxiety not let the anxiety control him. He even greets strangers now, with permission. Place has been an amazing tool while camping, and at home. We are able to see when he just needs a timeout to relax. With the tools we were given, Frank even drops the ball with out a fight, most of the time. It is fun to work with him as he is excited to learn and work.
