All Dogs Unleashed Dog Training Minneapolis

I cannot even begin to tell you how great my experience was with All Dogs Unleashed and Hannah their trainer, but I’m going to try. I have two female German Shepherds- Olive, a 2 y.o. with anxiety that I’ve had since she was a puppy (she’s had a few beginner courses of dog training through PetSmart), and Ivy, a 1.5 y.o. rescue pup that I’ve had for about 6 months (she was basically feral and had the attention span of a goldfish when it came to training.) Before deciding where to send both of them for a 2 week long board and train program, I called around to a few places in the Twin Cities Metro Area; All Dogs Unleashed was one of them. I decided to go with a cheaper option in Shakopee. Long story short, I got Ivy back after 3 weeks at another facility and she was emaciated, and didn’t even sit for the trainer when she was trying to demonstrate what she had learned during her 3 week long stay. Olive went to the same facility for 2 weeks- she came back with minimal to no improvement. Both dogs came back very smelly. The lady offered to take them again in the future to “retrain” them after I complained. She waited until a week before our scheduled retraining session to call me to say she was closing her business, couldn’t take my dogs, and promised me a refund that I’m guessing I’ll never see because she filed bankruptcy. You get what you pay for. I called All Dogs Unleashed (again)- they were able to take both of them promptly, were still competitively priced, and from beginning to end they were awesome. They weigh your dogs at drop off to make sure they maintain weight while in their care. A trainer meets with you at drop off for a consultation to make sure they know your pet’s problem behaviors, personality, dietary and medical needs, and much more (plan for an hour long drop-off). They use corrective collars that stimulate a muscle response vs a “shock” collar, they brought my high anxiety dog on outings to help her manage her emotions and behaviors, and I went from having two lovable manaces to society, to having two sweetheart well behaved dogs. To say that my partner and I were (positively) shocked with their improvement at pick- up from All Dogs Unleashed is an understatement. My dogs behavior list at drop off was ridiculous: chasing cats around the house, awful recall, charging other dogs or people on or off leash, pulling on the prong collar leash on walks and stopping whenever they’d please to sniff or entertain distractions, Ivy going #2 in the house, resource guarding, separation anxiety, going bananas when guests arrive to our home, jumping, almost steam rolling over us when going out a door, trampling over us while we’re sitting on the couch… and the list goes on. My family felt like we were going insane trying to train and manage these two girls! Fast forward two weeks to pickup day from All Dogs Unleashed. We met with Hannah who spent hours with us reviewing how their training went, explained in detail how to use the corrective collars that they send home with you, and answered ALL of our questions regarding how to follow up on the training at home, how to implement the commands in our home environment, potty training advice for Ivy, and they were both freshly bathed!!! She had both of them demonstrate the commands, then had us give the commands and use the training collar corrections as needed until we felt confident in our ability to carry out the training ourselves. Now, I’m not saying we got back two perfect saints- but we and our dogs now have the tools and training needed to make sure Olive and Ivy are well mannered dogs. They even offer a lifetime of follow up training services and sessions as needed complimentary if we run into any regression or issues with their training! Moral of the story- don’t price shop dog training, because you get what you pay for. Sending the girls to All Dogs Unleashed was worth every penny, and Hannah (their trainer) clearly LOVES what she does. If you’re on the fence about signing up your dogs for training here- just DO IT!! You won’t regret it.

My Honest Experience When I first reached out to this company, I was really excited. The staff seemed very friendly from the start -- they even texted to confirm my appointment for the meet-and-greet. They shared that they've trained over 6,000 dogs, which made me feel confident and hopeful in giving them a try. They also said that if the board and train option wasn't a good fit, they have private one-on-one sessions, which sounded great. Unfortunately, my experience didn't match my expectations. The meet-and-greet lasted only about 20 minutes, which didn't seem like enough time to evaluate my dog fairly. My dog was wearing a muzzle during the meet, and when the trainer approached and made direct eye contact, he reacted by lunging — a common reaction when a dog feels uncomfortable. I would hope that a professional would understand that, and at that moment, it felt like they didn't really give him a chance. Afterwards, I reached out via text to let the person with whom I was in contact, who had set up the meeting, know what had transpired and that the trainer would speak with the owner to discuss setting up private lessons. The person responded to my text, saying thank you and that they would talk to me later, but I never received a follow-up text or call — not even a courtesy message to say they couldn't take my dog or didn't have the capacity. For a company with such great reviews, I was surprised and disappointed by the lack of communication and follow-up. While I appreciated how kind the staff initially seemed, I left feeling dismissed and uncertain about what had gone wrong. I truly wish they had been upfront -- yes or no would have been fine. The good news is that I did find another trainer who accepted my dog and is happy to work with him. I wish this company the best, but based on my personal experience, it was essential to share this honest feedback.

The location is confusing as the building has a dog groomer sign on it and nothing about a dog obedience school. When I arrived the gal that came upstairs did not great me or introduce herself to me nor did she offer to help bring things or help bring the puppy in. While under there care my dog hurt his paw they never notified me about the injury nor did they tell me about the injury when I arrived, they claim they have no idea what happened. The leash that was included in training is for dogs upto 44 pounds, he is already 44 pounds and still growing, the place is nothing more than a over priced dog sitter and a borderline scam.

We had such an amazing experience with All Dogs Unleashed! Our pup, Wilbur, stayed with them and I can honestly say it was the best decision we could’ve made. From the very first interaction, the team was professional, kind, and truly cared about Wilbur’s well-being and progress. Not only did Wilbur come home better behaved, but he was also genuinely happier and more confident. The trainers kept us updated throughout his stay with pictures, videos, and progress reports—which made us feel so much more at ease while he was away. It was clear that Wilbur was being treated like family. The transformation in his behavior is incredible. He now listens better, walks calmly on a leash, and responds to commands consistently. He even seems proud of himself! We’re beyond grateful to All Dogs Unleashed for the care, attention, and training they gave our sweet boy. If you’re looking for a place where your dog will be loved, trained, and come back home thriving—this is it. Thank you so much for taking such great care of Wilbur!
