I have a Pit Bull mix who is 2 years old. I had been looking at this Board & Train program since I got him at about 6 weeks. Recently, I went to Puerto Rico for a week and decided this would be the best time to put him in the program. Kiko is eager to please, very food motivated, & a love bug. He’s a good listener, but is excitable and doesn’t realize how big he is. He was already very familiar with simple commands- sit, paw, come- and I even taught him how to use doggy doorbells. I wanted his main focus for this training to be impulse control, manners around other humans & dogs, and polite leash walking. Lenny listened to my every concern when initially discussing Kiko’s problem areas. I was nervous about leaving Kiko for so long, but Lenny sent pictures, videos, and general updates on Kiko’s progress throughout the whole time- which helped ease anxiety. When we went to go pick him up, we got a 20 minute lesson about some of his commands, new behaviors, and how to reinforce everything he’s learned at home. Lenny & another trainer demonstrated all that he’d learned, and taught us how to use the same commands. We practiced his walk (which has insane improvement), with the new training leash and collar provided. It’s only been a day since I brought Kiko home, but the difference in his mannerisms and listening skills are undeniable. I have confidence that we will continue to learn and grow together, so these “commands” will eventually be just his way of life. I had no doubt in sending Kiko here since I’d been looking into it for so long, and have zero regrets in leaving him with Lenny & his crew. The staff are polite, understanding, and show how much they care for your pet through their work. From here on out, Kiko will be boarded with Lenny & his crew when needed- I trust them, he enjoys his time with them, and he will get important social hour with other dogs.
