All Dogs Allowed

I have two challenging dogs. One has extreme dog reactivity and the other is has stranger danger. I’ve brought them both to various classes at ADA including Foundations, Dynamic Dogs, Intro To Nosework, and Super Sniffers. The trainers are always super patient with my pups and their needs to keep everyone safe and happy. In fact, Nosework has been a game changer for both of my pups in different ways including confidence building and helping my reactive dog better regulate her stress. I’m so glad that I have a place where my dogs can learn in a fun environment and thrive to become their best selves allowing me to bond with them further. Highly recommend ADA to help you build a better relationship with your pups!

I can't recommend this place enough! I have a medical alert/mobility dog that does a lot for me. I knew she loved smelling, so I looked into the nose-working/scent-working classes for All Dogs Allowed. Let me tell you, it has been the most fun we have ever had with each other! Jewel sings the song of her people every time we turn down the road to get there. Dave and Katie are fantastic! They offer small group classes that have a waitlist at times (they are worth it!!). The group classes have been great to train patience, and the pups are encouraged to be excited to smell and search. If you can't make the group classes, you can work with the trainers to reschedule. If the class day doesn't work for you at all, you can ask them about private classes! They are VERY reasonably priced and contain so much great information. So far, we have taken Intro to Noseworking and we are almost done with Search for Birch. We hope to do the Super Sniffers class soon! It's so fun to see how happy and relaxed Jewel gets with this activity. You can even take it on the go for a break on long road trips! Edit: I forgot to mention, they were highly individualized with some of their training recommendations! For example, since Jewel is a service dog, we had to work together and think of a way to not get her to come back when I told her "yes" when a scent was found. Dave worked on looking into the Do's and Don'ts recommended for searching for service dogs specifically outside of our class time, which was a pleasant surprise and something I didn't even think of! Katie was great recommending techniques and assisting the pups with regulating their excitement so that it stayed excitement (and didn't progress to anxiety!). She was great about not making anyone feel bad that their dog was VERY stoked to be in her class. It was one of our favorite parts (besides the sniffing!) Oh, and if you aren't great at retaining a lot of information (guilty as charged at times!)...They will send you emails after class with an overview on what was discussed in class and what to work on! 10/10, please give them a shot!

Me and my pup love our trainers Katie and Kat at all dogs allowed! They take a very individualized approach to each dog, so no one feels left behind or like the methods don't work for them. They provide feedback not only on what to do, but what you're doing that may not be helping in a way that doesn't feel shame-y, but instead supportive to help you reach your goals. We just finished our first round of the Canine Good Citizen group class, and Rory has shown a lot of improvement. In our first class, he couldn't settle for more than a minute without getting distracted and popping up to check out the other dogs. Now, he was able to be in a down stay at T.J. Maxx for a solid 6 minutes even with lots of distractions (a kid pushed a toy lawn mower inches away from his feet and he didn't budge). It feels like a lot of places claim to use positive training methods right now because it's trendy, but will resort to aversives if they don't see the results they want quickly (we've experienced this before unfortunately). Our trainers at All Dogs Allowed have used truly positive methods only. We wholeheartedly recommend, and are glad to have found this place! We just signed up for our second class.

Our family recently worked with the dog training facility, All Dogs Allowed, based in Cary, North Carolina. We needed help with our one and a half year old dachshund, Penny, who is great with people, but had difficulty dealing with other dogs! She would bark, growl, and become very aggressive. In looking for ways to improve her behavior, we met Trainer, Remi Metzger. She had lots of experience working with this pet issue. We realized that fear was the basis for our dog's negative behavior. Remie gave us unique ideas to help reduce Penny's stress level/ fear response, and associate meeting other dogs as a positive event. Penny loved working with Remi, and we saw marked improvement in our dog's behavior! We will continue to practice her suggestions, and know she is available if Penny needs any skill training sessions.
