All Dogs Allowed

I'm clearly missing something because all the reviews are fantastic. I took the Foundations class with my dog, but it was not the format I was expecting. What I am used to is where everyone stands with their dog and the instructor explains a skill and then everyone practices, for several skills covered per class. This was not like that. Basically, we sat in chairs with our dogs trying to be calm or entertain themselves while the instructors lectured. They tried to keep the dogs from getting triggered by seeing each other by using low plastic panels with fleece draped over them at each chair. There were one or two 5-minute practices per class, (some classes had no practice), and afterward we received an email with more explanations and videos to watch. The first week, where you don't even bring your dog, the videos have a person talking with a mask covering their face and I couldn't understand them. I think the content is good, and the instructors are experienced and knowledgeable, but it's just not a good format for me. I learn by doing, not by hearing, and if I wanted to read, listen and practice on my own I could do that through YouTube videos and books. I wish that had been laid out more clearly up front, and maybe I wouldn't have wasted $200 and 7 Saturday mornings.

Edit: We have been consistently going to all dogs allowed for the last 3 years. We have taken three different dogs to several classes, with two of them being in weekly classes (dynamic dogs and nose work). Everything I said below still holds true. The level of love and care that every instructor puts into their classes is unmatched. The instructors clearly love leading their classes which creates such a warm environment for the humans and doggos alike. We have also used them for private classes at home and have been equally happy and impressed. --- Original 2022 review There are not enough good things I can say about All Dogs Allowed and our instructor Logan Buie. We took the group foundations class and learned everything from drop it to paws up. I particularly appreciate the emphasis Logan placed on providing enrichment for the dog in addition to the typical skills and training. We have noticed a huge difference in our dogs abilities and our own ability to efficiency train our puppy. We will be returning to all dogs allowed in one of the level two classes. I can not recommend the foundations class and Logan enough!

My dog and I attended Canine Good Citizen classes with Camille/Candace and had a great time! The trainers are very knowledgeable and took the time to adjust each exercise to suit individual dogs in the class to help everyone progress no matter where they were at. They are also great at training humans! I got wonderful advice on how to better communicate with my dog and it has helped our training in general. We are already booked in for more classes here and can't wait to learn more together.
