All Breed Dog Obedience Training

Thoughts on using All Breed Dog Obedience…. The owner and my instructor is Holly Leas. She has been involved with training dogs since she was a young girl. Her parents started the business and she’s been involved in raising, training and showing German Shepherds as she grew up. I first had the opportunity to train a golden retriever female with her family seven years ago. It was great! My dog did the puppy class and learned how to heel, sit, down, stay and leave it. After completing that training, I got another golden retriever about six months younger and due to a variety of circumstances didn’t enroll him with All Breed, instead going with a trainer closer to where I was living. You know the saying, “support local?” Well it didn’t work out very well and my dog failed the class. Fast forward six years to 2026. The first golden retriever, Molly, passed away from renal failure. Then it was me and the second retriever, Buddy, who was now 90 pounds of muscle and very difficult to take on walks. Besides practically dislocating my shoulders with pulling, he was very reactive to everything from squirrels to other dogs we would encounter on walks. It was no fun. When I had the two dogs, they would play together and I could go exercise. Now that it was just me and Buddy my exercise routine needed to change to include him. So I remembered how successful All Breed was and decided to take a look and see if they were still training dogs. That was in January 2026. I decided to enroll Buddy in the obedience class. If you’re interested don’t be put off by the cost. Take it from me, by the time you go with another organization, go through their different classes, or if you invest in specialty techniques promoted online, you will end up spending a lot more in the long run. See, those things don’t have the miracle thing All Breed has, which is Holly Leas. She is the Iowa version of the dog whisperer. She intuitively understands what is motivating your dog’s behavior and teaches you how to correct the behavior. Not only does she intuitively understand the dogs, she will also tell you what you are doing to enable the bad behavior. Not only does she train dogs, she trains owners, too. Buddy and my journey started with All Breed in January 2026. It’s now May 2026. Buddy has gone from beginner to advanced obedience classes. He has earned his Canine Good Citizen (CGC), CGC Advanced and CGC Urban awards. He’s currently enrolled in the Therapy Dog course starting in June. That has been a goal of mine since Molly passed, and All Breed is giving me the training to make it happen. It goes to show, you can teach an old dog new tricks (both canine and human). Becky Ladd

First training session in the books for our purebred Aussie, Roxy. A quick 45-minute private session to start, where we discuss the program, habits Roxy may have, our expectations, and Holly’s expectations. We are already looking forward to our next training session! A small group of 6-8 dogs and trainers at various levels of training, which is great to see. We were the family that thought prong collars are not the answer, but Holly changed our mind about it when used correctly. We have seen a dramatic positive change in Roxy (both in training and her overall mood) after the first class, and 30 minutes training at home.

When we first started training, I was honestly so overwhelmed with my reactive dog. Even going on walks felt stressful and I constantly felt anxious trying to manage everything and worry about how he would react. Working with Holly through All Breeds Dog Training completely changed things for us. We’ve seen such a huge turnaround. I can actually enjoy taking him on walks now instead of feeling stressed the whole time, and I feel comfortable bringing him places knowing he will listen and settle. I also feel like the training helped him become more confident too, not just obedient. Our bond has gotten so much closer through this process and it’s honestly made such a positive impact on our whole family. He even recently earned his CGC and CGCA, which is something I never imagined when we first started. I’m really grateful for all of the help and support we got along the way.
