All 4 Paws Training LLC specializes in owner trained service dogs for disabled individuals. Our goal is to improve the lives and Independence of the disabled while improving the lives of dogs through an engaging, exciting and fun training experience. We are an owner training program- this means that the dog and handler will attend classes together one day a week for about 1 hour either at our training center or in public. Throughout the courses you will learn to communicate with and to train your dog. This is not a fast process. On average it can take 2 years to complete the process to full service dog with all the rights and privileges allowed. Service dogs are highly trained dogs. Not every dog is cut out to be a service dog.
This is a 16 week course. Each week the class will meet at a different location and work on skills and/or behaviors all service dogs need to be in public. In addition you will be expected to learn the laws and service dog etiquette while in public. We expect you and your dog to be on your best behavior and respectful of others at all times. These classes are kept small, 2-4 dogs at a time. These classes often take place mid-day week days and sometimes weekday evenings. At the end of the 16 weeks you will take our Public Access Test.
