i appreciated the ease of setting up an appointment and also the trainer's passion as well as him showing me a multitude of techniques to help me train my dog, however, their website is very misleading. They advertise themselves as using "positive " reinforcement based training and this is not the case. the techniques that i was told were more so aversive and punishment based. for example, one of the techniques suggested to stop them from barking was to put vix vapor rub to put on the nose of the dog. They also offer using different types of collars including chain collars, prong collars, etc. I guess they consider themselves as positively reinforcing purely based on the fact that their correction is followed by treats after?? but with that, i wouldn't quite label it the way they do in their 'about' tab on their page. There should at least be something on their site that mentions the use of physical corrections mixed with positive reinforcement. So i suggest that if you're only looking for a strictly positive reinforcement based trainer, look elsewhere.

Wow! I cannot begin to thank Alan and Renee enough. We rescued a pup (Chuck) a year ago and he came with some pretty spectacular behavior issues. We tried all kinds of things before hiring Alan, and I wish we had skipped those steps! We worked one on one with Alan and then did the 4 group sessions, and little Chuck has been doing amazing! It takes a lot of hard work at home, but the things we learned in training were invaluable. Chuck is much less anxious, he listens great, and we even taught him some hand signals like Alan suggested which makes him look very cool. I have even been able to bring him with me to work at a busy gym full of strangers and other dogs. Cannot recommend his services enough.
