Alaska Dog Works

We brought my German Shepherd mix puppy to Alaska dog works when he was about 7-8 months old for an initial bootcamp, then once again at about 1 year 3 months old. They did a wonderful job of helping to teach him to stop jumping on people, basic commands and leash and door etiquette, as well as socializing him with other dogs. I will continue to use them in the future whenever we need to board my dog because I know he is both learning with them and having a great time. It's like doggy summer camp. Nicole and the team are wonderful to work with and give you updates throughout their stay as well as a lifetime of online or in person coaching if you live close by. Extremely grateful to have found them online.

I paid them their $1,000, we had one zoom call and then they disappeared. Seemed very rigid and unwilling to work around your schedule. They spam you with mass emails and the majority of their training is self taught online modules that don’t address your specific needs. I found the personal training at Howling Peaks much cheaper, easier, and friendlier with great results (not affiliated with them).

Alaska Dog Works is a great training program with lots of support for the whole family. As someone with two dogs, it was hard to find a program where I could work with both dogs at the same time. Their program offers a variety of options: board and train, several tailored training sessions, weekly group sessions, online support, weekly Zoom check-ins, and more. Michele and Nicole know dog training, are firm and compassionate, and passionate about what they do. My dogs still have work to do, and I feel supported as we continuing the training journey.

We decided to get a puppy when our two girls were getting older. For two reasons our girls are the same age and we know we will want another dog when it's their time. I thought getting additional help with training would be great since we live far away and our new puppy seems to get car sick often. We sent Akai our 6 month Shih Tsu & yorkshire terrior mix to camp... this was very helpful and Nichole was easy to work with. I really enjoy the thought of being able to reach out to her even when Akai's camp time is over.
